Our Vacation/Trip Highlights
05/03 Corpus Christi, TX
The 1st trip down! Cody was 13 months old. The car ride was fine until about 1 hour out…then it was non stop screaming—he had enough *L* We found a ton of hermit crabs and barnacles (I tried to save them but instead made our hotel room smell like a dead whale *L* *phew* Cody liked the water but didn’t care much for the rocky sand.
02/04 Corpus Christi, TX
The 2nd trip down The ride down was so much better, but we also had the new minivan so that may have made the difference. It’s so much bigger and has a lot more room! Jay went fishing on the pier and found a new hobby. Me, Holly and Cody went beachcombing and found all kinds of fun stuff. We went to St. Joe island, I was a horrible momma and put BUG repellent instead of sunscreen on Cody and Holly…and everyone got burnt to a crisp! Jay mostly fished and we looked for critters while we were there we also saw several dolphins swimming in the canal. Pretty Neat!
05/04 Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, MO
We were having a tough time in our lives and really needed a break. We were at Bass Pro and they were having some special for their timeshare place and we thought “good for a weekend away” We actually had a good trip, we ended up staying in a honeymoon cabin because of Jay’s umm “skillz” *L* We went to the outlet malls and to Ripley’s believe it or not museum. I had taken a ton of pictures but the camera malfunctioned during the sync and I lost them all! *cry*
11/04 Port Aransas, TX
The 3rd trip down This trip was a blast! We stayed on the island and it was awesome! Jay went on 2 fishing boat/trips, and had a blast. Holly and I went to St. Joe island. We tried to walk the entire island but found out it’s way to big and almost died *L* We had our Thanksgiving dinner at a bar on the beach (actually pretty good food!) because as we found out, people on the island shut down @ 5pm *L* so we had to make do and it all turned out ok. We found a TON of anemones and several starfish (alive still) and a few unbroken sand dollars and some of the stuff made it back to the tank at home ;) We saw several sea turtles which was awesome and we also got chased by a pelican (mean birds!) Overall it was a great vacation and we are planning our next one already!
03/06 Port Aransas, TX
The 4th trip down… Cody was 4, Emily was 9 months and Becky joined us on this trip. We had a blast! Jay caught a 4ft shark from the pier and ate the biggest hamburger I’ve ever seen *L* . While beachcombing I found a lot of critters for my tank at home including some sea cucumbers and I also found a TV!. We went to “oysterfest”…a JOKE! I won the lotto—10 bucks :) We had a waiter named Danny, who looked just like George Carlin I thought. It was really hot and windy the entire trip. We all bought new crocs, gotta LOVE those shoes. Found a table I want to make at a Chinese resteraunt. Beemans is closing :( We also got to visit Daniel & Trish as well. Overall what a great 10 day vacation :)
03/06 Brookhaven, MS
Jay’s Pawpaw passed away and we left for Mississippi for a few days. We visited with a bunch of family and mourned the loss of pawpaw :(
11/06 New Orleans, LA
Jay’s Gramma passed away so we made a trip down for the funeral. She was such a hoot and is missed. We ended up staying a few extra days to visit with Jay’s other Gramma and also got to visit my cousin Melissa for abit.
03/07 Livermore, CA
Oh geez..can we say stress-ful?! We went to go see my family because my Grampa was terminally ill. What was suppose to be a last visit turned out to be anything but. I’m so glad he was able to meet my kids and I got to see him one last time before he passed. I miss him alot and wish things had been different. Overall It was good to see some of my family (it’s been about 10 years) but I was glad to come back home. It was a very long (3 solid driving days) trip.
06/07 Nashville, TX
We went to go see my dad for a few days. The kids had a blast! Cody was all about his cousin CiCi who is about his age and height so they were two peas in a pod while we were there. Emily found lots of things to look at (horses!) and was having a good old time with my dad. That was such a great trip - I hope we can do it again soon.
11/07 Brookhaven, MS
We went to visit Jay’s Gramma for Turkey day! We had a such a great time! The kids were running around entertaining her and having a good ole time and we also got to show Mawmaw how to play the Nintendo Wii ;) She got Cody addicted to the game Chuzzle and we learned that Mississippi sucks for black Friday sales *LOL* We spent a few days visiting and I can’t wait to get back down there and visit again!
