The funniest things sometimes. Emily has been quite the chatterbox lately. Ok so to be honest she never stops talking *LOL* but sometimes she has the funniest off the wall things/words. So I thought I would share a funny one with you. She calls Kiwi’s (yeah the fruit) “Kiwi Pickles” no matter how many times you correct her, she will call them kiwi pickles *LOL* and anything that is referring to time, money, or a number is “a million ba-zillion” *L* Cody has his moments as well. Now to anyone who knows me - you KNOW I am not the cook. I actually started a fire in the kitchen in Houston trying to boil water…so needless to say I don’t cook. I decided a few days ago that since we had so many eggs I would make us breakfast burritos. So there I was cooking in the kitchen for all of 15 minutes *L* and they looked good - I was proud *LOL* I gave Emily hers and she dug right in but when I gave Cody his he got mad. He wanted to know why I left him alone. For the life of me I could not figure out what he was talking about until he added “so how did you go to Sonic and back so fast?” *lmao* he never would believe that I made them *hahaha* Oh I almost forgot - the kids needed new crocs so we went to bass pro and found something better - Polliwalks. They are just like crocs except they are shaped like an animal and leave animal tracks when they walk. Cody picked out the green alligators and Emily wanted the yellow ducks. They are adorable!
(Life) Well pretty much same ‘ole really. The kids have been sleeping in until 9am *L* better than 7 I guess but I remember sleeping until noon as a kid ;) Jay and I and a few friends went garage saling last weekend and found some fun stuff. I got Cody some mario cookie cutters and I picked up an i-quest w/4 games for a dollar. Jay found a craftsman push mower that he loves and we got a great deal on it. So I’m thinking we might have to do that again!
(Farm) Well we added a box turtle to the bunch - although he does live outside in the flower boxes. We added 6 baby ducks that were born on 5/30 and acquired in Fordland. Yesterday I candled the duck eggs in the inky and none were fertile so I don’t know what the deal is there. Each of the female ducks have started new clutches and so I’ll let them do their thing and hope for the best. Next week I’m expecting 2 sets of rabbit kits. The pigeons have laid another set of eggs and have been sitting on them since 6/9.
(Garden) Growing good - nothing to harvest yet but getting close. There are a few tomatoes that have started and I saw 3 peppers on the pepper plant. The cucumbers have taken over that entire side and I have about 10+ that have started growing and should be ready in a few days.
(Movies) Well we bought the Tremors pack and Cody loves those movies. We have also been watching Indiana Jones and he really gets into them. Emily can care less about either one of those *LOL* I watched P.S I love you and cried throughout. I LOVE that movie :) It’s a total chick flick! *hahaha*

Time for a quick update.
(Farm) We basically worked around the house and the farm all weekend. We got all the wire to build the next set of rabbit cages. 4 more and we are done! *woohoo* we got some wood to make a better roof over the quail/pigeon enclosure. Jay redid the opening on the water barrel to hold the heater thing and so far it’s holding - which means I can plug that in and keep the barrel from freezing which will eliminate the need for me to carry 2-Liters back and forth everyday :) and that makes me happy! The pigeon babies are doing good. Looks like they will be white spotted and brown. I took some pictures today (finally) and they will be uploaded tomorrow. I lost another bun last night - Alberta’s solid black baby. Now she has lost both her babies. Why? I haven’t a clue! They didn’t seem to be attacked - bitten or otherwise. They looked as though they just laid down and died. Just weird. So after this I’m contemplating having JUST the Angora’s. They are bigger, seem to be abit healthier, and I like them *L* but like I said I’m not for sure yet. I’m going to wait and see what happens around the 14th (her and sassy are due then) and if she has a litter - that will determine her outcome.
(Kids) Cody beat Super Mario Galaxy(Wii) this weekend. That boy amazes me! It took him a little over a month. He got the game for xmas. Emily has scavenged my nintendo ds these days. She can play the heck out of cooking mama *LOL*
(Hobby) I did a little sewing this weekend. Mainly fixing things but I’ve got the plans to make the ig’s a snuggle sack (dog bed) this week.
(Life - College) I have decided to stick with math. I’m going to go and listen and TRY to learn but I’m not banking on passing this class. Ahh well. It was going to cost $$ to drop it so I might as well stick with it till the end of the year. ASL is going great. It’s hard but I love it. I have learned alot in just a few short weeks. We were at bass pro the other day and there was a deaf couple there who were discussing which boot to buy. I was happy that I caught the jist of their signs until I realized I was ease dropping :/ I didn’t think of it that way I was just trying to see if I really learned anything. Biology is pretty rough - well it seems to be for me, but I think I should pass it no problem. Health? uhh well that’s a no brainer *L*
(Sweepstakes) Got a wild hair yesterday and played 56 online contests - didn’t win a thing *lmao*
(Movies) We got in several movies this past week/weekend.
Deathproof - can we say lame? I hated the b&w swap and the old film lines..plot was insane. What is the point of getting to know characters to see them die in less than 2 seconds? It’s a typical grindhouse movie plot - Come on now. 5/10
Balls of Fury - ping pong? What is it with my streak of bad movies? Lots of lame unreal action shots with a horrible story line. 3/10
Death Sentence - the latest Kevin Bacon movie. It was decent. I liked the plot and the shots - although very predictable. Overall a decent movie I guess. 7/10
Stardust - Weird and reminded me of the movie Big Fish. It was a good fairy tale/tall tale kind of movie though. Predictable ending though. Robert DeNiro was hilarious as a queen! 8/10
The Invasion - Slow to boot but it gets better. I tried last week to watch this and wasn’t able to - I fell asleep. This time once you get past the first 30 minutes it’s actually a good movie. I liked the idea of it and the ending kinda makes you think “what if?” 8/10
Underdog - The kids wanted to see this one. Man that is one ugly dog *L* The story was fine, it follows the same plot as the cartoon. Decent kids movie. I like Jason Lee for the voice - reminded me the whole time of Earl though *LOL* 7/10

We did get a chance to watch a few movies the last 2 weeks.
SuperBad - ok can we say S-T-U-P-I-D? *lmao* its a very uhh interesting movie in the sense of language. I didn’t care for it but it’s a movie when you start it you need to know how it ends even though it’s awful. 4/10
Mr. Woodcock - Hillarious! I really liked this movie and laughed out oud several times. Billy Bob Thorton is hillarious! 9/10
Halloween (Rob Zombie Edition)- This was a good movie. It was pretty “whoa gross” at times but if you like the previous halloween movies you’ll get a kick of this one. It goes back to his childhood and shows his growing up. Awesome twists 9/10

This week we also watched…
The Contract - It has Morgan Freeman and John Cusack (I’ve like him ever since he did the boombox scene from “say anything” - 1989! *LOL*) This was a decent movie. Kind of expected everything before it happened but it was good. I’m bias though because I like both the main characters ;) 7/10
I know pronounce you Chuck & Larry - w/ Adam Sandler. This was a great movie! It was funny, and had a few serious moments. Overall good movie with lots of laughs. 10/10

SO the challenge is at least 1 movie each week all year..Can I do it?
This week I watched:
Witches of Eastwick (I had never watched that before) I liked it for an 80’s movie. 7/10
Hairspray (’07 V) - I didnt much care for it. I thought John Travolta’s voice was odd and kinda freaky *LOL* I’m not a huge fan of musical type movies anyways though 3/10
Shoot em up - We started to watch this but when it got to the part where he shoots the umbilical cord I changed the channel *L* but I’ve heard that I *have* to watch it. So maybe I will try again - someday. 1/10

This weekend we watched quite a few movies…(hey! It snowed and was 20 degree’s *LOL*)
1408 - A great movie! It’s based on a Stephen King short story. It has John Cusack & Samuel L Jackson in it. Not a “scary” movie more of a suspense kinda movie I guess. I really liked it :) 9/10
Deck The Halls - blah! A christmas movie…it has Danny Devito & Mathew Broderick (man does he look old now! remember him from Ferris Bueller?)Anyways I can take or leave this one. Basically 1 neighbor drives the other crazy with christmas decorations. This is a movie I can do laundry in the middle of…b-o-r-i-n-g… 4/10
Hostel 2 - I know I swore I would never go there EVER again. I had to. It’s the psychopathic killer in me *LOL* Once again no “known” actors really. Not near as gory and gross as the first one but it still ranks up there for the average horror flick. I knew what was going to happen next (I hate that) but it did have a few twists. Loved the end (probly the grossest part)Â 7/10
Fracture -This has Ryan Gosling (young hercules!) and Anthony Hopkins. The jist? Did he murder his wife or not? My favorite part “My dick can confirm” *lmao* great movie! 9/10

We watch alot of movies. That’s just what we do. There’s not alot of “going to the movies” with smaller kiddo’s at home so we rent ALOT *L* So I figured I would start a new thing and review some the ones we’ve watched each week :)
This week we watched…
Stay - I’m going to be very upfront and say this was a horrible movie *L* I hated the story line and the camera angles. The ENTIRE time I was waiting for the ending (reminding me of another movie w/Bruce Willis) THEN when it finally got to the ending…uhhh TERRIBLE ending. Overall 1/10 - a horrible movie!
Evan Almighty - Quite the opposite of Stay. I really enjoyed the movie. It was more of a family-friendly movie with plenty of laughs. Overall I’d give it an 8/10
Flight of the living dead - OK so we like zombie movies…that being said I hated this one *L* Bad acting, bad story line…2/10
28 Days Later - Yeah another zombie movie :) This one was decent - not great but not bad. I’m not a huge fan of “fast moving” zombies BUT it made sense because of the fast rate of change so. This movie explains HOW the zombies arrived..sorta *L* 6/10
28 Weeks Later - The 2nd part to 28 Days Later…Once again, more fast moving zombies! This was a decent movie. It was more of a survival type plot in regards to the zombies. I liked this one better than the first. 7/10

The show is called “Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmerman” which airs on the travel channel. He was in Ecuador on today’s episode. I like this show because it’s different. I can see all kinds of different culture foods and not have to eat any *LOL* (I’m extremely picky about food) but tonight was different. Apparently ecuador has a national food - They call it “cuy” and it’s BBQ guinea pig. Yup, the cuddly little guys we keep as pets here in the states. Strange. He said it tasted like a pork roast shoulder then he sucked out the brains and ate them *gag* Anyways I was amused/disgusted and thought I’d share *lmao* If you want to see the episodes recap click here
