Oh my gosh - I cannot explain how excited I am that this semester is almost over. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it doesnt involve math or biology! *lmao* I am sick of that boring CRAP! I have 2 more classes and a presentation then a final to take in ASL, and Math (well I bombed it anyways) but 2 classes and 2 more tests…and 2 more online tests in Biology and I’m DONE! *happy dance* Did I mention I received a big fat A in health? Woohoo - go me..so what if it was an easy class ;)Â Anyways I know I keep promising to update more but this time I mean it, once school is over I’m gonna update this baby all the time and finally get those pictures added! I have a big update but I’m practicing for my ASL presentation (that happens to be tomorrow) and then *hopefully* I can get a few hours of sleep. I’ll update more later this week :)

A SLACKER! I would like to blame the reason for not posting on school but I can’t this time *L* I mean I have homework, but I have had time to update the blog I just didn’t. I know - I’m terrible - get over it ;)Â I have been surfing the web and catching up on the blogs I like to read, been looking up stained glass stuff (my latest hobby) and trying to figure out what to plant in the garden this year. We bought some plants today at Lowes. I will be planting those babies tomorrow (yes of course I’ll take pictures) I still need to update Cody’s birthday pictures. Apparently I let my Flickr acct lapse and it wouldnt let me upload any more pictures. There’s a limit of pictures on the free accounts I guess. So I had to pay for that before it would let me upload - so now that it’s paid I’ll get to uploading. OK onto the updates…
(Farm) Still hoping for rabbit babies. We bred Sassy and Angel so I’m expecting a litter around the 1st week of May. The baby pigeons have all their feathers and are doing wonderful! I’m soo excited that these lil guys made it through. Their parents have already started a new nest (away from the babies) and have been sitting on 2 more eggs. I had a tremendous amount of fun trying to catch 2 runaway pigeons on Tuesday. The wind blew the door of their pen open I guess. I had the front door open with the screen for some fresh air and a white bird flew right into the screen *L* scared the crap outa me! So I went to check if it was ok and realized *crap* that’s MY bird! *LOL* So I ran to their pen and 2 of my escapee pigeons were standing there (mocking me!) from my neighbors roof. It took about 4 hours before they FINALLY decided to get back in there…but everyone is back and safe and sound :) I caught my ducks mating today - kinda strange. They rarely make noise so when I heard a honking/hiss noise I assumed something (stray cat/squirrel/oppossum) was bothering them. Out the door I went with a broom just to find out they were having a moment *LOL* Sorry ducks! hahaha so maybe I will have some baby ducks this year.
(Kiddo’s) Both my nerds are doing great. Cody took a 30 word spelling test the other day and missed one - go Cody! I.m such a proud momma. He has done so good in school this year! Emily is quite the chatter box (as usual) she rarely stops talking. She’s just like her momma ;) She has been loving going outside and helping me get the garden ready and feed all the animals. Although she’s a tad upset that last years kiddy pool is mostly green in color and STILL has goldfish swimming in it. Now I KNOW that pool froze solid over the winter so I was not expecting anything to be alive in there but they are - all 4 of them.
(Me and Jay) Same ole! That’s my update *L* Same crap - different day. You might wanna buy some stock in Lowes…We are planning to do some serious house repairs this spring/summer, they have been needing to be done for a few YEARS now. Painting the house(outside), putting in new flooring, new bathroom sinks, some hole repairs in the drywall (thanks to our potbelly pig zsa-zsa) , replacing the backyard fence, plant boxes around the tree and in front of the house, driveway repairs - and a few other odds and ends. Should be exciting :)

2 weeks…I’m just now getting over this crap I have. I’ve got a lingering cough and I’ve shared that cough with the Peanut, Cody, Jay and Momma :/ Everyone seems to be on the upswing so *hopefully* this sick streak will end soon. I still can’t hear all that well on my right side(insane ear infection) but I’ve done my 3rd round of antibiotics to fix it - and now another wait game I guess. Maybe my sign language class was a foreshadow *L* I hope not! Anyway, I know I’ve promised the movie update - I’m still working on it *L* We’ve actually watched a lot more that I thought.
Let’s see…in the last 2 weeks…
(Jenn’s College) I have missed a lot of class - which sucks because that put me behind in my sign language class and I really enjoy that class. I got my biology test back - 35 out of 60 - can you say “THAT SUCKS” with me? Gosh, it might have been better if I had known what to study and wasn’t sick. Ugg so that bites - but I passed my ASL test with flying colors!
(Cody) His birthday is almost here - it’s this Thurs. He’s so excited to be turning the big 6 *L* He’s been getting all of his spelling words correct so he’s getting some kind of ice cream sundae thing at school which he is stoked about.
(Emily) She has been cracking me up lately. OH the things kids will say sometimes. Tonight she asked me for some tea. I told her “in a little while” and she let out a awwwoohhh moan and said “oh no, in a little while means NO” *lmao* I guess she has figured me out ;) A few days ago her and daddy were having a fun argument about who stinks. Jay was telling her she smelled like stinky old cheese and she was hollar’n no she didn’t stink at all. After about 5 or 6 “you stink like” my Miss Princess Emily blurted out “you stink like asshole” yeah isn’t that fabulous? Not entirely sure she has ever heard that word quite put like that before but she knew when to use it :/ I just love the things kids say…
(Farm) The pigeon eggs have hatched and seem to be doing well. The quail have started laying eggs. The damn rabbit never had any babies (talk about pissing me off!) and everyone else is doing fine. Next weekend I hope to be getting the garden in order and ready for plants. We should be putting quail eggs in the inky within the next month and we’ll have the webcam on them and WHENEVER the darn wabbit decided to have babies I’ll stick the other webcam out there so you can watch the bunnies.
(Jay) Finally took his motorcycle class. He ended up in the local paper. The headline above his quotes read ”
Missouri’s death rate among highest in U.S.” Yeah I was so proud *LOL*He really likes his bike and it is really a money saver as far as gas goes. I’m still not a huge fan but it makes him happy and we’re saving some money so for now…I’m not complaining ;)
I’m going to try and get back into my routine and update more often - summer is a come’n and we should have lots to update on the farm ;)

3 weeks since I’ve posted anything *wow* that’s what happens when I get sick :/ Emily and I have been “sharing” a severe sore throat, ear infection, cough for about a month now. She has finally gotten over it but it’s still lingering for me *ugg* I cannot wait for warmer weather. Midterms were this past week - I bombed 3 of the 4…sucks. I didn’t feel up to par anyway and I didn’t get to study as much as I would have liked. Aww well - next time :) I am really enjoying my ASL class though. I’m considering changing my major and going for an ASL interpretor. I think I would really enjoy that. I’ve been going to the deaf club every Friday (Jay and the kids to) and I went to a Helen Keller play with a few friends from ASL class and the play had 2 interpretors there. It was a great play put on by the Springfield Little Theater. So who knows what will happen with all that - I’m not sure what I’m doing anymore ;)
Let’s see…in the past 3 weeks we have watched a ton of movies - I’ll make that a separate post though. We did all go to the movie theater to see Horton Hears a Who yesterday and it was a cute movie. Cody sat and watched it all the way through - Emily was up and down throughout but she said she enjoyed it.
As far as the farm goes - same ‘ole really. The pigeons have laid some more eggs (2) so we shall see. Sassy rabbit is due next week - but I’m not holding my breath. the Chickens and the ducks have been enjoying the warmer (40’s-50’s) weather.
Cody is officially on spring break - and reminds me of that at least 3X each day *LOL* He is so excited to not have to go to school. Such a change from last year. He would cry if I kept him home sick or if he didn’t have school that day. This year he wants to throw a party on the teacher work days *LOL* He will be getting his fill of playing DS, Playing the Wii and sleeping in this week :) His birthday is coming up (4/3) and he keeps telling me who he’s inviting to his party (Several school friends) - where his party is going to be (Chuck E Cheese) and what kind of cake he is having (Super Mario) It’s entertaining that he has everything planned now - before he was happy he got to eat cake *LOL* now he has specific things he wants to do :)
OK get ready for this…
<start panic attack> <paper bag> <breathe in> <breathe out>
</breathe out> </breath in></toss paper bag> </end panic attack>
Jay bought a bike. Not a peddle bike a motorcycle. I know - scary huh?! Uggg anyways he got a pretty good deal on an ‘05 Honda Rebel. It’s kind of a burnt orange color (I’ll post some pics soon) and he likes it. He’s still in the learning stage of riding it but once he gets it down it will be way better than the van on gas mileage! He filled it up from 1/2 tank and it cost $3.26 - I filled the van from 1/2 tank and it was $25! Massive difference.

(Life) UGGG! Cody was sick last Friday through the weekend and still has a yuk cough and now I guess it’s my turn AGAIN.
I have a bad sore throat and can hardly talk. It sucks! I hate to be sick. It seems I’ve been sick a lot in the past year…maybe I’m getting old ;) or maybe it’s because I have a kid in school and I started going to college. who knows…Sucks either way!
(College) School is going pretty good I guess. I’ve been keeping up really good grades in ASL, Health and Bio but Math is really kicking my butt. My teacher sucks - I can’t tell you how many times he will write the wrong answer and solve the problem wrong only to have another student point out the error. I should invest in erasers! So I will be taking this class over with a different teacher next year.
(Farm)We bred the rabbits on Saturday. Just Sassy and Walter. I’m hoping this one sticks and we actually get a litter. Everyone else on the farm is doing good. The chickens have been laying eggs pretty steady again. I guess they think warmer weather is heading our way. I’m totally ready for that!
(Kiddo’s) Cody is doing good. He has been fascinated with germs lately *L* Gee I wonder why. So I bought him a book by the magic school bus about germs. I couldn’t believe how excited he was *L* He’s been doing good in school. He took his fall pictures Monday so I’m anxious to see how they turned out. Miss Emily has been cracking me up lately. She acts so grown. She told me yesterday “Momma, I just want to do what I want to do” - gotta love that from a 2 year old *L* She sure is a loving little thing.
She was trying to wake up Cody (which seems mean right?) because she wanted to share he drink with him *aawww* although I didn’t let her wake him up, I was proud that she wanted to share with him :) Such a doll!
(Movies) Gosh, we have watched a crap load of movies in the last few weeks. I just haven’t been online much (for leisure) to update the blog. Every time I get on the computer I’m doing homework it seems.

Well I think I can safely assume that neither of my wabbits are going to be having any babies. Sassy is STILL pulling fur…crazy bunny! So I guess this weekend we will be breeding rabbits again.
Let’s see what else has been going on *hmmm*
(School) Well I had a blast going to deaf club night last friday. I didn’t learn much but it was fun to be there. I’m planning on going again the next chance I get. I’m still very excited about my sign language class. It’s hard but so much fun!
(Cody) The kiddo’s are doing good. Cody has been griping about the cold. Since we’ve had so much ice this year and school’s were canceled because of it - he thinks if it’s ice outside he shouldn’t have to go *L* What a fun argument at 7am! He has also made a new friend, Nathan. Apparently Nathan has a Nintendo Wii and has Mario Galaxy - so they have something in common. They even call each other n the phone and chat about the game. It’s so amusing :/

This past weekend was so nice as far as the weather goes. We went ahead and built a new roof in the pigeon/quail area, cleaned out the rabbit cages, cleaned out all the chicken nest boxes…just the chores that have been needing to be done. We also lost our baby pigeons on Saturday- not sure exactly sure what happened, they were just fine on Friday. So maybe with the new area - with a new nesting box we will have a set that will make it to adulthood.
THEN all hell broke loose *LOL* The weather was having none of that and sent an ice storm our way. The schools were canceled and we lost power all of Monday and into Tuesday. We were fine - I was proud :) We had our heat (propane and kerosene) and I got the blankets up over all the windows right when the power went out to keep the heat in. I closed off all the bedrooms and doors. That helped to keep the temp for awhile (all things I learned from last year’s ice storm) The power came back on for about an hour Monday afternoon. I was skeptical that it would stay on so I turned the heaters our room and bathroom up to flame (80+ degrees *L*) and closed the doors. It worked out because when the power went back out it stayed out until the following morning. The bedroom (which was where we camped out) never dropped below 72! I felt prepared this go round although I didn’t think we were going to lose power this time. Mainly we were just bored. We were warm, had our lights (I even gave the kids glow sticks to play with *L*) and we had food, and a small tv that runs on battery’s. The kids had the nintendo ds’s and a few toys so that kept them business. I got caught up on my book and some podcasts. It wasn’t to bad overall - I don’t like the power out by any means but I know we can handle it - and we did better this year from the trial and error last year.
Last night I remembered that I have bunnies due Thursday so we had to do some cage swapping. I lost a rabbit yesterday(maybe from the cold? not sure as everyone else was just fine)Â So I loaded everyone up with extra hay, pellets and added in the nestboxes to Sassy and Alberta. So I’ll be running out there a lot checking for babies.
Schools are still canceled today - mainly due to the side roads being extremely slick and the ice on the sidewalks. Hopefully it will melt some today. I have school tonight though - math test..why can’t it be canceled for that?! *LOL*

Time for a quick update.
(Farm) We basically worked around the house and the farm all weekend. We got all the wire to build the next set of rabbit cages. 4 more and we are done! *woohoo* we got some wood to make a better roof over the quail/pigeon enclosure. Jay redid the opening on the water barrel to hold the heater thing and so far it’s holding - which means I can plug that in and keep the barrel from freezing which will eliminate the need for me to carry 2-Liters back and forth everyday :) and that makes me happy! The pigeon babies are doing good. Looks like they will be white spotted and brown. I took some pictures today (finally) and they will be uploaded tomorrow. I lost another bun last night - Alberta’s solid black baby. Now she has lost both her babies. Why? I haven’t a clue! They didn’t seem to be attacked - bitten or otherwise. They looked as though they just laid down and died. Just weird. So after this I’m contemplating having JUST the Angora’s. They are bigger, seem to be abit healthier, and I like them *L* but like I said I’m not for sure yet. I’m going to wait and see what happens around the 14th (her and sassy are due then) and if she has a litter - that will determine her outcome.
(Kids) Cody beat Super Mario Galaxy(Wii) this weekend. That boy amazes me! It took him a little over a month. He got the game for xmas. Emily has scavenged my nintendo ds these days. She can play the heck out of cooking mama *LOL*
(Hobby) I did a little sewing this weekend. Mainly fixing things but I’ve got the plans to make the ig’s a snuggle sack (dog bed) this week.
(Life - College) I have decided to stick with math. I’m going to go and listen and TRY to learn but I’m not banking on passing this class. Ahh well. It was going to cost $$ to drop it so I might as well stick with it till the end of the year. ASL is going great. It’s hard but I love it. I have learned alot in just a few short weeks. We were at bass pro the other day and there was a deaf couple there who were discussing which boot to buy. I was happy that I caught the jist of their signs until I realized I was ease dropping :/ I didn’t think of it that way I was just trying to see if I really learned anything. Biology is pretty rough - well it seems to be for me, but I think I should pass it no problem. Health? uhh well that’s a no brainer *L*
(Sweepstakes) Got a wild hair yesterday and played 56 online contests - didn’t win a thing *lmao*
(Movies) We got in several movies this past week/weekend.
Deathproof - can we say lame? I hated the b&w swap and the old film lines..plot was insane. What is the point of getting to know characters to see them die in less than 2 seconds? It’s a typical grindhouse movie plot - Come on now. 5/10
Balls of Fury - ping pong? What is it with my streak of bad movies? Lots of lame unreal action shots with a horrible story line. 3/10
Death Sentence - the latest Kevin Bacon movie. It was decent. I liked the plot and the shots - although very predictable. Overall a decent movie I guess. 7/10
Stardust - Weird and reminded me of the movie Big Fish. It was a good fairy tale/tall tale kind of movie though. Predictable ending though. Robert DeNiro was hilarious as a queen! 8/10
The Invasion - Slow to boot but it gets better. I tried last week to watch this and wasn’t able to - I fell asleep. This time once you get past the first 30 minutes it’s actually a good movie. I liked the idea of it and the ending kinda makes you think “what if?” 8/10
Underdog - The kids wanted to see this one. Man that is one ugly dog *L* The story was fine, it follows the same plot as the cartoon. Decent kids movie. I like Jason Lee for the voice - reminded me the whole time of Earl though *LOL* 7/10

Ugg what am I doing? This semester is kicking my butt already and it shows. My ASL class was interesting to say the least tonight. I had a minor conflict with another student which will hopefully be resolved soon. So my night didn’t start out all that great…THEN I went up to my math class where I got my latest test grade. I scored a “D” that’s right..a don’t have a fricken clue D! and I’m upset about it. Why am I doing this? I already have so much what on earth made me think I needed to add a full time college schedule to my plate? I’m going back and forth about whether to drop math or to stick it out anyway. Math is just a really hard subject for me. I can do accounting - REAL world math..but linear equations and all that B.S? It just doesn’t compute in my brain. Ugg I’m just so freaking frustrated! Guess now that I’ve ranted for a minute I’ll go finish my Biology homework.

Gosh can it get any freaking colder? OK well it probly can so maybe I shouldnt say that. I’m seriously tired of this weather. When I took Cody to school this morning the wind chill was -6…NEGATIVE SIX?! Holy shitake! I’m a california girl, I can’t handle much more of this single digit crap - you hear me weather man?! Ok enough of the rant…and on to the update.
I lost my first rabbit from the cold. One of alberta’s babies (the Orange/Black male) passed away yesterday overnight. What a bummer. So I’m triple checking them now. Hopefully that is the last one I lose.
Even though Olive is in heat - Anubis wants absolutly nothing to do with her in regards to uhh “getting it on” *bow-chika-bow-bow* So I’m giving up on being a iggy Gramma *LOL*
School is…going. Lots of homework. I had my first tests in ASL, Biology, Math - and we’ll just say I’m not going to be in the top of the class *L* So I’m trying not to stress out like I did last semester. I’m just going for my best and that’s that. If I don’t get an “A” I’ll be fine…(but I really do like getting an A *LOL*)
I added a bunch of pictures today. I updated the Christmas, rabbits, farm and a few others. If you just want to check out my latest additions take a gander at the “recent photo’s/tags” under the Photo’s tab.
