2 weeks…I’m just now getting over this crap I have. I’ve got a lingering cough and I’ve shared that cough with the Peanut, Cody, Jay and Momma :/ Everyone seems to be on the upswing so *hopefully* this sick streak will end soon. I still can’t hear all that well on my right side(insane ear infection) but I’ve done my 3rd round of antibiotics to fix it - and now another wait game I guess. Maybe my sign language class was a foreshadow *L* I hope not! Anyway, I know I’ve promised the movie update - I’m still working on it *L* We’ve actually watched a lot more that I thought.
Let’s see…in the last 2 weeks…
(Jenn’s College) I have missed a lot of class - which sucks because that put me behind in my sign language class and I really enjoy that class. I got my biology test back - 35 out of 60 - can you say “THAT SUCKS” with me? Gosh, it might have been better if I had known what to study and wasn’t sick. Ugg so that bites - but I passed my ASL test with flying colors!
(Cody) His birthday is almost here - it’s this Thurs. He’s so excited to be turning the big 6 *L* He’s been getting all of his spelling words correct so he’s getting some kind of ice cream sundae thing at school which he is stoked about.
(Emily) She has been cracking me up lately. OH the things kids will say sometimes. Tonight she asked me for some tea. I told her “in a little while” and she let out a awwwoohhh moan and said “oh no, in a little while means NO” *lmao* I guess she has figured me out ;) A few days ago her and daddy were having a fun argument about who stinks. Jay was telling her she smelled like stinky old cheese and she was hollar’n no she didn’t stink at all. After about 5 or 6 “you stink like” my Miss Princess Emily blurted out “you stink like asshole” yeah isn’t that fabulous? Not entirely sure she has ever heard that word quite put like that before but she knew when to use it :/ I just love the things kids say…
(Farm) The pigeon eggs have hatched and seem to be doing well. The quail have started laying eggs. The damn rabbit never had any babies (talk about pissing me off!) and everyone else is doing fine. Next weekend I hope to be getting the garden in order and ready for plants. We should be putting quail eggs in the inky within the next month and we’ll have the webcam on them and WHENEVER the darn wabbit decided to have babies I’ll stick the other webcam out there so you can watch the bunnies.
(Jay) Finally took his motorcycle class. He ended up in the local paper. The headline above his quotes read ”
Missouri’s death rate among highest in U.S.” Yeah I was so proud *LOL*He really likes his bike and it is really a money saver as far as gas goes. I’m still not a huge fan but it makes him happy and we’re saving some money so for now…I’m not complaining ;)
I’m going to try and get back into my routine and update more often - summer is a come’n and we should have lots to update on the farm ;)

3 weeks since I’ve posted anything *wow* that’s what happens when I get sick :/ Emily and I have been “sharing” a severe sore throat, ear infection, cough for about a month now. She has finally gotten over it but it’s still lingering for me *ugg* I cannot wait for warmer weather. Midterms were this past week - I bombed 3 of the 4…sucks. I didn’t feel up to par anyway and I didn’t get to study as much as I would have liked. Aww well - next time :) I am really enjoying my ASL class though. I’m considering changing my major and going for an ASL interpretor. I think I would really enjoy that. I’ve been going to the deaf club every Friday (Jay and the kids to) and I went to a Helen Keller play with a few friends from ASL class and the play had 2 interpretors there. It was a great play put on by the Springfield Little Theater. So who knows what will happen with all that - I’m not sure what I’m doing anymore ;)
Let’s see…in the past 3 weeks we have watched a ton of movies - I’ll make that a separate post though. We did all go to the movie theater to see Horton Hears a Who yesterday and it was a cute movie. Cody sat and watched it all the way through - Emily was up and down throughout but she said she enjoyed it.
As far as the farm goes - same ‘ole really. The pigeons have laid some more eggs (2) so we shall see. Sassy rabbit is due next week - but I’m not holding my breath. the Chickens and the ducks have been enjoying the warmer (40’s-50’s) weather.
Cody is officially on spring break - and reminds me of that at least 3X each day *LOL* He is so excited to not have to go to school. Such a change from last year. He would cry if I kept him home sick or if he didn’t have school that day. This year he wants to throw a party on the teacher work days *LOL* He will be getting his fill of playing DS, Playing the Wii and sleeping in this week :) His birthday is coming up (4/3) and he keeps telling me who he’s inviting to his party (Several school friends) - where his party is going to be (Chuck E Cheese) and what kind of cake he is having (Super Mario) It’s entertaining that he has everything planned now - before he was happy he got to eat cake *LOL* now he has specific things he wants to do :)
OK get ready for this…
<start panic attack> <paper bag> <breathe in> <breathe out>
</breathe out> </breath in></toss paper bag> </end panic attack>
Jay bought a bike. Not a peddle bike a motorcycle. I know - scary huh?! Uggg anyways he got a pretty good deal on an ‘05 Honda Rebel. It’s kind of a burnt orange color (I’ll post some pics soon) and he likes it. He’s still in the learning stage of riding it but once he gets it down it will be way better than the van on gas mileage! He filled it up from 1/2 tank and it cost $3.26 - I filled the van from 1/2 tank and it was $25! Massive difference.

(Life) UGGG! Cody was sick last Friday through the weekend and still has a yuk cough and now I guess it’s my turn AGAIN.
I have a bad sore throat and can hardly talk. It sucks! I hate to be sick. It seems I’ve been sick a lot in the past year…maybe I’m getting old ;) or maybe it’s because I have a kid in school and I started going to college. who knows…Sucks either way!
(College) School is going pretty good I guess. I’ve been keeping up really good grades in ASL, Health and Bio but Math is really kicking my butt. My teacher sucks - I can’t tell you how many times he will write the wrong answer and solve the problem wrong only to have another student point out the error. I should invest in erasers! So I will be taking this class over with a different teacher next year.
(Farm)We bred the rabbits on Saturday. Just Sassy and Walter. I’m hoping this one sticks and we actually get a litter. Everyone else on the farm is doing good. The chickens have been laying eggs pretty steady again. I guess they think warmer weather is heading our way. I’m totally ready for that!
(Kiddo’s) Cody is doing good. He has been fascinated with germs lately *L* Gee I wonder why. So I bought him a book by the magic school bus about germs. I couldn’t believe how excited he was *L* He’s been doing good in school. He took his fall pictures Monday so I’m anxious to see how they turned out. Miss Emily has been cracking me up lately. She acts so grown. She told me yesterday “Momma, I just want to do what I want to do” - gotta love that from a 2 year old *L* She sure is a loving little thing.
She was trying to wake up Cody (which seems mean right?) because she wanted to share he drink with him *aawww* although I didn’t let her wake him up, I was proud that she wanted to share with him :) Such a doll!
(Movies) Gosh, we have watched a crap load of movies in the last few weeks. I just haven’t been online much (for leisure) to update the blog. Every time I get on the computer I’m doing homework it seems.

Well I think I can safely assume that neither of my wabbits are going to be having any babies. Sassy is STILL pulling fur…crazy bunny! So I guess this weekend we will be breeding rabbits again.
Let’s see what else has been going on *hmmm*
(School) Well I had a blast going to deaf club night last friday. I didn’t learn much but it was fun to be there. I’m planning on going again the next chance I get. I’m still very excited about my sign language class. It’s hard but so much fun!
(Cody) The kiddo’s are doing good. Cody has been griping about the cold. Since we’ve had so much ice this year and school’s were canceled because of it - he thinks if it’s ice outside he shouldn’t have to go *L* What a fun argument at 7am! He has also made a new friend, Nathan. Apparently Nathan has a Nintendo Wii and has Mario Galaxy - so they have something in common. They even call each other n the phone and chat about the game. It’s so amusing :/

Busy as usual. I started back at school. What in the world was I thinking going full time? My gosh - I’m swamped in homework already. If I start talking about going full time in the future someone remind me of this post! Let’s see…What has been going on here the last 2 weeks?
Peanut (Miss Emily) has a cold - poor thing :/ I hate when the little ones are sick. She can still spread all the toys she owns about the house so I know she’s not super sick ;) She’s been playing guitar hero (funniest thing ever) and has been finding stickers to stick to random things. She has also taken up color on the bathroom door *wtf* *LOL*
Cody has a cough and I’m sure will have whatever the peanut has by weeks end. He has been learning about change (as in money) and is actually doing pretty good. He decided while we were at the pet store (getting crix for skittles the scorpion) that he wants a bird. Not just any bird - he wants a scarlet macaw! *LOL* So he has started a “bird fund” out of an old marshmellow fluff jar and anytime he finds any change he confiscates it and adds to his jar. It’s a great saving lesson :)
Jay has been amazing me with his skills *LOL* He “fixed” our free tv that was a tad out of sync. It involved taking it apart and soldering 2 chips in. He did an awesome job and the picture is perfect! THEN the other day the dishwasher broke. It wouldnt drain the water out. So here I am (credit card in hand) ready to go shopping for another one when he pipes up “I can fix that”…uhhh yeah ok. So after about 45 minutes of banging and clanging in there I here “ok it’s fixed” and sure enough it is. Good as new. SO I am proud of my hubby he’s been a Mr. Fix-it this week.
OK now my turn? Basically I have been doing the farm chores - house chores and homework. That is what my life is consisting of *LOL* Did I mention already that Olive (the new IG we brought home) is in heat? Yeah…it’s been fun this week *LOL*

I know, I’ve been bad at posting for a week or two. Holidays are insane around this household. So let’s see I’ll try and update the best I can of the last 2 weeks. Cody (poor Cody) got sick at school the day before the last day of school. He was still sick (temp, runny nose, cough - the whole 9) the next morning so I kept him home. Normally that wouldn’t have been a big deal but that day it was. His class was having their Christmas (being PC they call it “winter”) party and he missed it. He was so upset over missing it that we held our own party at the house just him, Emily and myself. I tried to make the day better for him but he was still sad he missed it :( poor lil guy! So this holiday didn’t start out all that great. Of course the peanut (Emily) caught whatever he had by the weekend - basically as soon as Cody was getting better SO that was great fun and of course I started battling with it by this point as well.
Then Christmas arrived. The kids woke up at (no joke) 5am. I tried to keep then in bed as long as I could but that only lasted until 6:30am *LOL* I was videotaping them ripping open prezzy’s by 6:38am *LOL* The kids were loaded up this year. I think Santa did good this year *woohoo* Cody got his Nintendo DS he has wanted all year and Emily got a Disney princess vanity and seems to love it. She sits in front of it and brushes her hair, puts on her jewelry and pretend makeup. It’s so cute! They got way more than they needed (of course) but I like to go overboard every now and then ;) I actually surprised Jay with a prezzy this year so that was fun. We got to visit with the family - Jay’s sisters Holly, Kelly and momma and dad were all home. Always good to get together with the family. After Christmas the kids spent the next few days playing with all their new toys. I spent the time cleaning up after them *LOL* We got a hand me down TV that I love. It’s way bigger than our old one and guitar hero rocks out on it *LOL* so to the TV gift giver a big THANK YOU is in order. Oh I also had a visitor. My good friend Becky came down to visit me for the day which was awesome. We don’t get to see each other all that often because of distance but I always love when she comes down. We had a great visit.
I got sick again the night before our Anniv (Dec 31st). I had some kinda killer sore throat that I couldn’t shake. I couldn’t eat, sleep, talk…nothing would take that pain away. I tried every home remedy I could find on the i-net (gargling with orajel is a BAD idea BTW) and nothing would work. The next morning I bought every sore throat item at the store I could find and still no releif so I went to the Dr’s office. Two hours and a strep culture later I left with an antibiotic and a script for Lidocaine Viscous. That stuff is nasty but it works - kinda *L* It’s basically the stuff the dentist puts on the q-tip to numb you up before a shot. Your suppose to gargle this thick gel like crap. OMG it’s awful but it numbs everything…your mouth, lips, tongue - everything it touches *LOL* I say it kinda worked because I couldn’t seem to get it all the way towards the sore part without gagging which made my throat hurt even more. So needless to say I spent the greater part of our anniversary not saying a word and trying to sleep as much as possible. Me and Jay lit our wedding candle and let it burn for a few. I can’t believe we’ve been married 7 years now. Still going strong - how awesome! That evening we headed over to mom and dads to ring in the new year. The kids got to stay up late and do some streamer firework thingies and drink sparkling grape juice at midnight. Dad made me some kind of alcoholic concoction to help my throat and it worked for a bit then it wore off. We watched the ball drop (basically a wedding anniv. tradition now *LOL*) then came home and went to bed. Yesterday Jay did all the farm chores for me (aww the love) as I wasn’t up to par. I thought 2 of our chickens were roosters so I asked him to take care of them before they actually started crowing. I was glad that afterwards he confirmed they were indeed roosters cause that means I’m getting better at telling the difference. By last night I was talking and eating again *woohoo* and I feel alot better today. Still sore but way better than it was. Cody went back to school this morning and he was not happy about it. When we got up to get everyone dressed this morning it was 8 degree’s! Cody kept telling me “but I forgot what I’m suppose to do!” *L* Today was also his “star” day which means he gets to be the star all day and can bring in a toy or item to share and he always brings snack for the class. I sure hope he has a good day today. Emily has a runny nose today so I’m sure we’re headed for another bout of the sickness bug. Geez I can’t wait for warmer weather. So hopefully 2008 will be better than 2007…although everyone in this household is starting it off sick - not a great sign *LOL*

The discussion began with me asking “what do you want for Christmas again?” to the kiddo’s. Emily immediately yelled out she wanted presents! So I taunted her more with “but what kind of presents?” She looked at me like I had just asked the stupidest question and replied “presents FROM SANTA! *duh*” *lmao* So funny. Not what I meant but I got her point. She’s the easy one of the two. Cody began rattling something about a Nintendo DS and added about 15 games to the list. His list was precise and to the point. He knew what he wanted. I had to laugh because a few weeks ago he informed me that he “ordered” <— those were HIS words exactly, a Nintendo DS from Santa. So Christmas day should be interesting :) Let’s see if his “order” arrives *LOL*
Tonight before bed Cody said he wanted to get me a few presents…a wishing box - so I could make a wish anytime I wanted, mosquito spray- so they won’t bother me when I’m cleaning the rabbit cages *L*, a picture - hand drawn that is a secret, a nintendo wii elebits game- so he can teach me how to play, and last a Rudolph the red nosed reindeer ornament- to remember this Christmas. He’s such a thoughtful, or as he calls it “kind and caring” little one :)

Gosh! This week has just flew right by. We brought Anubis in the house last weekend. We are giving it another go at him being a “house dog” and so far so good. He still marks (pee’s) on stuff so I put a belly band on him and that seems to be working out a lot better than expected. Monday we had a short ice storm spell *blah* but it was all melted away by Wens. Tuesday was such a busy day! I took my math final Tues afternoon. As you know I am horrible at math and this class has been the death of me *LOL* I studied by @$$ off and I really did try not to get “test anxiety” but no such luck. I feel like my mind draws a blank as soon as the test begins *ugg* I’m not thrilled but I got a C. Before the test I was hanging onto a B but after the final I ended out with a C overall in the class. I passed, but I had hoped for a better grade. Math just isn’t my thing! Then I left school and went to Cody’s winter program *proud mama* This year it was on the Polar Express. He was so adorable singing his songs. I videotaped the entire thing and he wanted to watch the video as soon as we got home *LOL* such a ham! Then after watching the video with the kiddo’s I went BACK to school to take my English final. I had an A and got an A on the final so I ended with a solid A *woohoo!* So that was exciting. I’m actually going to miss that class. It was my favorite class. I really liked our teacher and most of the other students were pretty fun to. I left that class and took my computer class final. I got a B on the final and ended up with an A in the class *yeehaw!* so not too shabby for someone who hasn’t been to school in darn near 11 years! Now I’m out for winter break until Jan 14th *happy dance* Then I start full time, basically 4 classes instead of 3. I started my Seraphina shawl (again) so we’ll see what happens with that. Jay has been steady updating his website. It’s coming together, so he’s excited about it. Currently it is 22 degree’s and snowing *yuk* so we are all cooped up watching movies and staying warm this weekend. So far so good with the heat tape on the rabbit waterer. I’m so glad I’m not having to go out every hour to make sure it’s not frozen *L* ’cause it’s freakin cold! It doesn’t help that I’ve been sick since Sunday :/ I’ve been running a temp, my sinus are messed up and I feel like crap *blah* but I am getting better and I’m done with finals so I think I’ll be good :)

We are all doing good. Busy little bee’s getting ready for Christmas. We got the tree and all the decorations put up Saturday night so the kids are happy :) I am completely finished Christmas shopping for the monkeys (go me!) and have nothing to do but stress and study for my finals *LOL* one more week and I’m done till next year! *yeah baby*
- Cody got 2 super manner papers today at school! One said Super Manners and the other was great reading *happy dance* He has 30 Super Manner papers on the wall as of today :) I’m such a proud momma!
- Funny thing was said this morning…Cody (at 7am mind you) was taking of his P.J’s and putting them in the hamper. Now I had been boycotting laundry all weekend so his hamper *was* kinda full. Cody came marching into the bathroom where I was brushing my hair *L* “Momma” he said “Somebody needs to do this laundry, I can’t even close the lid on my hamper!” not 5 seconds after those words left his mouth Jay added “Son, a word of advice - NEVER say that to your Momma if you ever want clean clothes again” HAHAHA Never the less I spent the day doing laundry *lmao*
- I also finished my final english paper! *happy dance* It had to be a parody/satire of a fairy tale/nursery rhyme. I did mine on The Tortoise and the Hare and threw in Humpty Dumpty for spice *LOL* I think it turned out good…We’ll see when I get my grade *fingers crossed*\
- The pipes froze on the rabbit cage last night *grr* Luckily they didn’t bust so today I went and bought some heat tape and wrapped the automatic waterer pipes in that and plugged her in :) Hopefully we won’t have to deal with that again! The baby bunnies are doing great. Sassy’s babies are starting to wean and Alberta’s babies are still so fat and roly poly like *LOL* Cute though :)
