Once again I am behind *bad momma* I promised to keep updating and I didn’t :/
ahh well you forgive me right?! Ok good..on to the update…

(Life) We added to the crew…a sugar glider named Marley. I adopted him off craigslist and I just love him. He has already settled in his new house. He’s a good eater and I am just so glad we have him :)

(Garden) The garden going downhill. The cucumbers are starting to slow and the vines are starting to wilt…the ‘mato’s were murdered by my dog (Sam) I tried to tell Jay he loved tomatoes *L* He broke through the fence as soon as he saw the red on them *L* and ate every single one! So still no ‘matos for me. We have a pumpkin! The sucker is huge, it’s been growing awhile but was hidden under the cucumbers - which are wilting. Also we have 3 watermelons going now *woohoo*
(Kids) Cody and Emily are becoming quite the farm helpers :) they have been helping me feed the bun’s and collecting eggs. They have so much fun doing it - which is amazing cause I’m not a huge fan but it needs to be done *L* Now if I could get them to love doing dishes I’d be set ;) Nah, they do a great job. I can’t believe Cody will be starting back school in a month. Time sure flies!
(Hobby) I made Cody and Emily several different felt sets for their felt board. I made a birthday cake one, a Christmas and Halloween one and also a clock,a tic tac toe game and the alphabet.

After we got that tiny felt board last weekend at the garage sale - the kids were so entertained by it. That gave me an idea and today I decided to attempt it…so I made Cody and Emily a giant (1 yard) Mario felt board :) They love it so I’m happy with it. I still need to make Mario, Luigi - but my attempts were awful so I’m thinking about how to go about it *L*

(Life) Well we have been hiding a little bit. We did it to suprise Momma cause we thought it would be fun and since she already knows now I can spill the beans *L* We painted our house - yup the outside…with freakin hand paintbrushes *LOL* It looks good and it needed to be done but talk about tiring! The other BIG thing was that we ripped the carpet out in the livingroom and hall and put down that click together wood floor in there and the kitchen/dining room. Now that was rough but we finished it in 2 days - and YES for those wondering that is how the hammer met my finger ;) Jay is going to be attending OTC with me in the fall - he’s going to be taking the signing class I took. I think he will enjoy it. We also got a new game for the Wii - Wii-Fit. I freaking love that game! The kids and Jay will play also but I think I enjoy it more than they do ;) It’s a fitness game that has yoga, aerobics, strength training and some balance games. It weighs you and gives your BMI results and helps you get on track to getting fit. I’ve been tracking my progress - you can check it here - I added a link to the right side toolbar to. Aunt Kelly has been working out with me and I’m hoping a few more people will jump on board and keep the motivation flowing!
(Farm) The farm is booming *L* Angels babies are growing big - they are starting the wean now. I think I will be keeping the runt out of that litter - he/she is adorable! I plan on trying to figure out the sex on them this weekend and see what we ended out with. Sassy, Alberta and Murtle are getting a tad husky :) so I’m hoping they took. Murtle and Manson are doing so much better now that we’ve shaved them. Hmm did I even mention them before? Well just in case we bought 2 new angora’s (with papers even - oohhhh *L*) a black male(Manson) and a tortoise shell female(Murtle). They are HUGE! *L* We got them at the Marshfield Fiber fair a few weekends (5/17) ago. We ended up making new cages for the rabbitry and I love them. We did 4 male cages and 4 female (with drop down nest boxes) and I’m so happy with how they turned out. My arms and hands were so scratched up from messing and cutting the wire. I’ll add pictures under the rabbits. The ducks started laying on 5/16 (the 2nd duck started on 5/19) and have since laid 18 eggs that were put into the inky today. If I think we’re a go on them I’ll have Jay hook up the webcam when it gets to be hatch time.
(Kids) Emily just had her 3rd birthday - Happy birthday emily!! She was so excited to turn 3. We got her a little princess tryicycle and mamoo got her the princess helmet to match :) So cute! Emily’s latest “cute” thing that she says that is completely unique to her is “I love you a million ba-zillion” - omg sooo cute! I just LOVE when she says it. She also got a guitar (toy of course) but her and Cody have been rockin out like crazy fools to that thing. We got Cody a bike - his first one. He did such a great job of getting good grades and being kind and caring at school this year - he earned a bike :) and he loves the thing. He’s been riding around with Emily almost everyday. Cody will be done with school in 2 more days and let me tell you he is counting down the hours *L*
(Garden) We planted a few more things since I last updated, so Im going to update on everything *L* We planted 4 tomatoe plants - the cherry tomatoe has already started to grow one :) the others just have blooms. We also planted a watermelon and a pumpkin with haven’t done much yet. I decided we needed a catawa grape plant - and it seems to be growing…leaves…so maybe that’s a good sign?! *L* The cucumber plants - all 12 of them have of course taken off. I have over 40 (I quit counting) blooms and about 4 cucumbers started. Jay’s pepper has a few buds and the pepper from veitemese pepper (a friend sent him some seeds) is the tiniest thing you ever saw - but it’s growing *L* (although it does look alot like a weed right now*LOL*) I also planted a blueberry bush - and it has started some green blueberries :) I’m hoping they turn blue…soon! That’s all for the garden but I also have a patio peach tree on the front porch that has 6 peaches started *woohoo!* and Cody is excited about eating them!
(Hobby) Well like I’ve said before I dabble in a million different hobbies and crafts. I’ve awful proud of the wii-mote cabinet I made though. I basically just took a picture of the wii-mote and enlarged it - then decoupaged it onto a cabinet but it’s my creation and I love it. I made it for Cody - and he loves it to. I havent managed to get a lot of craftiness done the last few weeks but hopefully this summer.
(Website) I added this post, the Wii-Fit page and a million ba-zillion pictures ;) Check out the recently added section under photo’s.

(Life) Well I explained a few posts ago that our lives have been a tad crazy and busy these days. I finish this semester next week, Cody will be graduating kindergarten the end of the month *woohoo go Cody* Emily is turning 3 in 2 weeks…Just lots of events going on.
(Farm) Gosh let’s see…The 2 baby pigeons are fully grown and we had 2 more hatch out a few days ago that are getting so big already. Angel (rabbit) one of the Sassy/Walter from Oct had 5 babies this morning - what a nice surprise! They all seem to be doing good and she pulled enough fur to make another rabbit *L* so we are keeping our fingers crossed that she figures everything else out and these little ones make it. Stil no eggs from our leghorn chicken - who is SUPPOSE to be the better egg layer out of the 3 we have *LOL* so who knows. The ducks have been mating but no eggs from either on yet :/
(Garden) Well we planted a few weeks ago. We planted 4 tomatoe plants (Ill add the types in later) and about 800 cucumber *LOL* well maybe not 800 but alot! 4 - 6 packs and a few singles. I’ll count them tomorrow and let you know. We all like cucumbers and you can always find someone to take the extras off you hands ;) Jay planted some peppers (types later) and we are planning to add in some okra and MAYBE try another watermelon plant this year.
(Hobby) I actually did get some sewing in this week. I made some capris (for me) out of a to small pair of jeans and one of Jays old Hawaiian shirts *L* They turned out good and they are comfy! I also made Cody a few pairs of shorts from his to small (yes, as in floods) jeans and Emily got 4 pairs of capris from her to small sweatpants. On Emilys I added some cute ribbons to the bottom - and she loves them :)
(Website) Well I’ve posted quite a few times and I added a crap load of pictures tonight. I also updated the rabbit page , the Lists page and the zoo crew to reflect the right amounts :)

Time for a quick update.
(Farm) We basically worked around the house and the farm all weekend. We got all the wire to build the next set of rabbit cages. 4 more and we are done! *woohoo* we got some wood to make a better roof over the quail/pigeon enclosure. Jay redid the opening on the water barrel to hold the heater thing and so far it’s holding - which means I can plug that in and keep the barrel from freezing which will eliminate the need for me to carry 2-Liters back and forth everyday :) and that makes me happy! The pigeon babies are doing good. Looks like they will be white spotted and brown. I took some pictures today (finally) and they will be uploaded tomorrow. I lost another bun last night - Alberta’s solid black baby. Now she has lost both her babies. Why? I haven’t a clue! They didn’t seem to be attacked - bitten or otherwise. They looked as though they just laid down and died. Just weird. So after this I’m contemplating having JUST the Angora’s. They are bigger, seem to be abit healthier, and I like them *L* but like I said I’m not for sure yet. I’m going to wait and see what happens around the 14th (her and sassy are due then) and if she has a litter - that will determine her outcome.
(Kids) Cody beat Super Mario Galaxy(Wii) this weekend. That boy amazes me! It took him a little over a month. He got the game for xmas. Emily has scavenged my nintendo ds these days. She can play the heck out of cooking mama *LOL*
(Hobby) I did a little sewing this weekend. Mainly fixing things but I’ve got the plans to make the ig’s a snuggle sack (dog bed) this week.
(Life - College) I have decided to stick with math. I’m going to go and listen and TRY to learn but I’m not banking on passing this class. Ahh well. It was going to cost $$ to drop it so I might as well stick with it till the end of the year. ASL is going great. It’s hard but I love it. I have learned alot in just a few short weeks. We were at bass pro the other day and there was a deaf couple there who were discussing which boot to buy. I was happy that I caught the jist of their signs until I realized I was ease dropping :/ I didn’t think of it that way I was just trying to see if I really learned anything. Biology is pretty rough - well it seems to be for me, but I think I should pass it no problem. Health? uhh well that’s a no brainer *L*
(Sweepstakes) Got a wild hair yesterday and played 56 online contests - didn’t win a thing *lmao*
(Movies) We got in several movies this past week/weekend.
Deathproof - can we say lame? I hated the b&w swap and the old film lines..plot was insane. What is the point of getting to know characters to see them die in less than 2 seconds? It’s a typical grindhouse movie plot - Come on now. 5/10
Balls of Fury - ping pong? What is it with my streak of bad movies? Lots of lame unreal action shots with a horrible story line. 3/10
Death Sentence - the latest Kevin Bacon movie. It was decent. I liked the plot and the shots - although very predictable. Overall a decent movie I guess. 7/10
Stardust - Weird and reminded me of the movie Big Fish. It was a good fairy tale/tall tale kind of movie though. Predictable ending though. Robert DeNiro was hilarious as a queen! 8/10
The Invasion - Slow to boot but it gets better. I tried last week to watch this and wasn’t able to - I fell asleep. This time once you get past the first 30 minutes it’s actually a good movie. I liked the idea of it and the ending kinda makes you think “what if?” 8/10
Underdog - The kids wanted to see this one. Man that is one ugly dog *L* The story was fine, it follows the same plot as the cartoon. Decent kids movie. I like Jason Lee for the voice - reminded me the whole time of Earl though *LOL* 7/10

The Knit/Crochet board I was griping about a month ago? The one with a sign up list that was a mile long…well I FINALLY made the cut apparently *LOL* woohoo so I am officially a member at Raverly. I have been looking at that site for the last 2 hours (what else to do during a tornado watch? *LOL*) Anyways I love that people can add notes/comments to patterns. I have been attempting a certain crochet pattern for almost 2 years now - and I still cannot complete it. The pattern is wonky and hard to follow, and apparently I am not alone. There were at least a dozen others who have the same problem with the pattern as I do. There were several people who (somehow) figured the pattern out and had some suggestions. So I will attempt the pattern yet again but I swear if I cannot figure it out this go round I will throw the pattern in the trash!

Just Like Modge Podge

In medium size pan, combine sugar, flour and alum.

Gosh! This week has just flew right by. We brought Anubis in the house last weekend. We are giving it another go at him being a “house dog” and so far so good. He still marks (pee’s) on stuff so I put a belly band on him and that seems to be working out a lot better than expected. Monday we had a short ice storm spell *blah* but it was all melted away by Wens. Tuesday was such a busy day! I took my math final Tues afternoon. As you know I am horrible at math and this class has been the death of me *LOL* I studied by @$$ off and I really did try not to get “test anxiety” but no such luck. I feel like my mind draws a blank as soon as the test begins *ugg* I’m not thrilled but I got a C. Before the test I was hanging onto a B but after the final I ended out with a C overall in the class. I passed, but I had hoped for a better grade. Math just isn’t my thing! Then I left school and went to Cody’s winter program *proud mama* This year it was on the Polar Express. He was so adorable singing his songs. I videotaped the entire thing and he wanted to watch the video as soon as we got home *LOL* such a ham! Then after watching the video with the kiddo’s I went BACK to school to take my English final. I had an A and got an A on the final so I ended with a solid A *woohoo!* So that was exciting. I’m actually going to miss that class. It was my favorite class. I really liked our teacher and most of the other students were pretty fun to. I left that class and took my computer class final. I got a B on the final and ended up with an A in the class *yeehaw!* so not too shabby for someone who hasn’t been to school in darn near 11 years! Now I’m out for winter break until Jan 14th *happy dance* Then I start full time, basically 4 classes instead of 3. I started my Seraphina shawl (again) so we’ll see what happens with that. Jay has been steady updating his website. It’s coming together, so he’s excited about it. Currently it is 22 degree’s and snowing *yuk* so we are all cooped up watching movies and staying warm this weekend. So far so good with the heat tape on the rabbit waterer. I’m so glad I’m not having to go out every hour to make sure it’s not frozen *L* ’cause it’s freakin cold! It doesn’t help that I’ve been sick since Sunday :/ I’ve been running a temp, my sinus are messed up and I feel like crap *blah* but I am getting better and I’m done with finals so I think I’ll be good :)

Ok…So I’ve been hard at work getting my new site up and running. I’m still not 100% sure that I like the format. It’s going to take some time to get enough content together to really make it worth reading, but I think it’s going to be a fun project!
I present to you “The Backyard Beer Guide” My goal is to put together a collection of beer reviews in plain English. No big crazy words like “buttery diacetyl” no poetic descriptions that go on and on about about “light & lofty heads with a nose of elderberries and notes of freshly toasted marshmallows.” Just A simple review of what I liked, what I didn’t and maybe the odd photo of an animal drinking beer. Why should I feel like I need to get a masters degree just to understand the reviews, when all I really wanted to do was enjoy a nice cold beer? So go check out backyardbeerguide.com!
