Its been 3 months since I posted last…I guess I’ve been busy :)
Actually alot has been going on. Summer is always a busy time when you have kids and a farm *L*
We have a bunch of rabbits right now and a garden that has exploded it seems. Not to mention we started to homeschool Cody back in June. That has been a huge change in our lives :) Cody is having such a good time doing experiments and learning about everything in more of a hands on environment. It’s like having a different child. He wants to learn something everyday and asks a million questions - I love watching him learn :) Emily has been blowing me away also. She has her alphabet down - in english & sign language. We have been working on sight words this past week and she is picking it up so fast! I bet she will be reading soon. She thinks “School” is fun - the way it should be.

The farm critters that we have needs to be updated - we added some baby opossums a few months back. We finished raising them and released them into the wild 2 weeks ago. I was glad we were able to do it - but I was happy to see them go too. The garden - I don’t even know where to begin on that update. I tried to take pictures every week but as you know - Im not the best at keeping up with that kinda thing *L* Ill post the pictures and maybe add a link at the top with all the garden information.

I’m hoping to get back in the swing of things so I can keep everyone updated on our latest adventures.

Once again…

Yeah I know - long time no blog. Life has been crazy - as always. I am expecting it to slow down a tad so maybe I can keep up here. I actually miss writing - that’s my own therapy *L* So here’s a long over do update…

(Life) Let’s see I am officially 1/2 way towards my Assoc. degree @ OTC. We have both been taking classes for the past year. OTC is also adding a sign language interpreter program that I am considering.I have been working on the family tree book again. I’ve spent the past few weeks up late doing research on that. I’ve got 5 generations on each side now so I’m happy with that.

(Farm) Lots of changes on the farm. We have had a few additions and afew subtractions. I updated the pets page of all our current critters. Mason being the latest addition. He’s our big ole clumsy bloodhound. Love him and hate him - he lives to chew up my stuff. Very frustrating.

(Kids) Cody just turned 7. He is finishing up his 1st grade year and we have a new adventure to begin this summer (more on that later.) Emily will be turning 4 in a few weeks. So crazy to think how grown they are.

(Garden) We will be expanding the Garden this year. I am hoping to have the new fence put up this weekend - this week at the latest and get my plants into the ground. I have already bought tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelons, pumpkins. I am hope my grape vine and my patio peach come back this year. I also want to add some cantaloupe, peppers, and Okra (maybe).

(Website) I updated every page tonight. I added some pictures a few weeks ago so there are also new pictures to take a peek at.

OK so I lied about the blog being updated over the weekend. It’s been a month now *L*
Aww well, once again - you’ll get over it. I really do want to get back into writing every day and updating pictures.
There is just a lot going on and this place gets the back burner. So I’ll give a super quick to the point update and maybe fill everyone in on the rest of it all later…

  • We added a new family member - Cody & Emily have a new cousin Kaitlynn Brooke :)  their Aunt Holly has become a Momma.
  • Jay is taking online classes @ OTC
  • I am taking ASL 2 this semester along with History 130 (then I will be DONE with history!*woohoo*)
  • We have a new Puppy (12 weeks old this Sat.) He’s a Bloodhound named Mason and already weighs 20 pounds!
  • No new bunny litters - I gave the girls a winter break. I worry to much when I have litters and it’s 3 degrees outside.
  • Neko - our cat, had 2 kittens (well more but they didnt make it) a week before Christmas. They are feisty and getting big.
  • Emily knows the Alphabet - in english and in sign language. She can count to 15 and knows all her shapes and colors.
  • I have been on a reduce clutter spree for a few months - I have a need to get rid of things *L*
  • Abby (Sugar Glider we adopted in Aug 08) has grown her tail back completely! I really didn’t think she would ever grown any hair back let alone her entire tail - I’m super thrilled about that.
  • It appears we made it through the winter without losing power once! That is freaking awesome!

I know there is so much more to update I just can’t think of it now :/ Don’t you hate when that happens?

Time Warp?

Holy shitake! It’s been almost 2 months since I posted anything! It happens - leave me alone already *L*

Let’s do a quick catch up and then maybe I can keep up on it (I know, feels like an empty promise huh?!)

- Cody started back @ school. He’s a big first grader now. So far so good - although his spelling words are insane easy - he knew those in preschool :/ So I’m hoping it gets harder - he’s hoping it doesn’t *LOL*

- My princess peanut Emily had her screening for preschool (starts Aug 09) and failed miserably - she was cranky and not having a good day…and you know, when a princess has a bad day - it’s everyone else’s fault! It should work out to our benefit so I won’t complain…yet ;)

- Jay started college. I know right? He started out taking math, computers and ASL (with my teacher from last year) and now he just has the signing class *L* It’s a lot for us both to be in school and him working. So 1 class is good for now :)

- I am the PTA Secretary (and also the treasurer in a month) at Cody’s school. That has been fun and hectic all at the same time. That has actually taken up a lot of my free time these days. It’s worth it though and Cody loves me being there :)

- We have a total of 3 - yup, count them t-h-r-e-e sugar gliders now. Charley, Marley and Lola. Lola and Charlie were acquired from the animal swap and are doing great now. Marley is just diggin the company. They all share the same cage and sleep in the same pouch. Lola is a tubby - she weighs 2x what she should but the lady we got her from said she was feeding her french fries and blueberry yogurt *ack* so no telling what her cholesterol is! She’s on a diet and doing much better - although I’m sure she misses the french fries *LOL*

- We had baby hamsters a few week back. She had 6 - 2 got out and croaked..and we still have the 4. Let me just clarify 1 thing for anyone that is considering getting a hamster - Russian dwarf hamsters are bad ass and mean as can be!

- No more ducks for us. Well…we still have them sorta ;) Ducks are freakin messy! Good riddance!

- Baby bunnies were born on 9/8 - 6 of them from Angel (Manson is the daddy) and they are fat rolly poly looking things. Super healthy and super cute!

- Same day the bunnies arrived so did the baby kittens. Neko had 6 babies - we lost the first 2 (she just didn’t know what to do) but the other 4 are doing great. 1 black, 2 grey and 1 that looks just like her. The black one was hissing at me on day 2 *LOL* he/she is a feisty little nerd!

- I started back to school the same time Jay did. This year I’m tackling U.S History (1500-1877) let me say - super thrilling…did you catch the hint of sarcasm?*L* and I have advanced Excel. Being that I live with an excel super nerd I think I’ll be just fine in that class *L* This year I decided to go with online only classes. It’s easier because I don’t have to go in but harder because they give you extra busy work :/

- I saved the worst news of all for last…I’m turning 30 *whine* I know for those of you that are older - you think “your a baby still” and for those of you that are younger - you think “gawd your old!” <—-I’m thinking that right along with ya!

I’m so not ready to be 30 *LOL* 30 is well…old in my book! So I will officially be old :(

ok I’m done with my pity party…

-Favorite movie this month? “Juno” I could watch that all day everyday. I love the story - the language - everything!

“Oh, you think you’re so special because you get to play Picture Pages up there? Well, my five year old daughter could do that and let me tell you, she’s not the brightest bulb in the tanning bed. So why don’t you go back to night school in Mantino and learn a real trade.” (regarding Juno getting an ultrasound by a bitchy ultrasound tech) *lmao* funny funny movie!

I have taken a million and a half pictures in the last 2 months so I’ll try and get those uploaded also.

So ta-ta for now and hopefully it wont be 2 months until my next update ;)

Been a few days…

Once again I am behind *bad momma* I promised to keep updating and I didn’t :/
ahh well you forgive me right?! Ok good..on to the update…

(Life) We added to the crew…a sugar glider named Marley. I adopted him off craigslist and I just love him. He has already settled in his new house. He’s a good eater and I am just so glad we have him :)

(Garden) The garden going downhill. The cucumbers are starting to slow and the vines are starting to wilt…the ‘mato’s were murdered by my dog (Sam) I tried to tell Jay he loved tomatoes *L* He broke through the fence as soon as he saw the red on them *L* and ate every single one! So still no ‘matos for me. We have a pumpkin! The sucker is huge, it’s been growing awhile but was hidden under the cucumbers - which are wilting. Also we have 3 watermelons going now *woohoo*

(Kids) Cody and Emily are becoming quite the farm helpers :) they have been helping me feed the bun’s and collecting eggs. They have so much fun doing it - which is amazing cause I’m not a huge fan but it needs to be done *L* Now if I could get them to love doing dishes I’d be set ;) Nah, they do a great job. I can’t believe Cody will be starting back school in a month. Time sure flies!

(Hobby) I made Cody and Emily several different felt sets for their felt board. I made a birthday cake one, a Christmas and Halloween one and also a clock,a tic tac toe game and the alphabet.

(Life) We had a blast at Jay’s company picnic for Bass Pro - I added a post on it because it was deserving of it’s own space *L* I have been working on our family tree - which is quite time consuming *L* but I’m happy with how far I have/am getting. We haven’t been garage sale’n in a few weeks - we kept finding the same ones *L* I have totally slacked off on Wii-Fit and need to get back into the groove. Jay put a pond in the backyard. I added some big goldfish and a few crayfish so we have something to look at *L* Jay’s baby sister is getting married Sunday - Congrats Holly ;) and I think that’s about it for news.

(Farm) The eggs in the inky were bad (ducks) non were fertile. We added some quail eggs after that but the inky got to hot and basically cooked those eggs so for not its out of service. The baby bunnies are growing big. The baby ducks aren’t so little anymore - almost big enough to eat ;) The pigeons are sitting on another set of eggs and we added 4 chukars (jay’s idea not mine!) so we’ll see what happens with them. We’ve also added 2 hamsters to the zoo *L* what next right?!

(Kids) Emily has finally moved to a booster type car seat. It’s just like Codys except Ive removed the 5 pt harness and he uses the seatbelt. Cody has been super excited lately playing his Animal Crossing game - he caught the scorpion and the tarantula. We took Cody and Emily fishing this past weekend and they caught a catfish - and later they ate it *L* So they had fun.

(Garden) The garden has been going good I guess. The cucumbers expoleded *L* I’ve harvested over 40 so far and there are a ton more growing. Just a few mato’s this year - I think the cucumbers are shading them to much. I think the plan for next year is to make it even bigger and give more room for everything.

(Hobby) I crocheted Cody a “Goomba” hat - I think it turned out good and he loves it :) Jay made the coolest rain thing - it hangs from the gutter and the rain fills the cup and waterfalls to the next - awesome!

(Website) I added a ton of pictures and a few way overdue posts.

The funniest things sometimes. Emily has been quite the chatterbox lately. Ok so to be honest she never stops talking *LOL* but sometimes she has the funniest off the wall things/words. So I thought I would share a funny one with you. She calls Kiwi’s (yeah the fruit) “Kiwi Pickles” no matter how many times you correct her, she will call them kiwi pickles *LOL* and anything that is referring to time, money, or a number is “a million ba-zillion” *L* Cody has his moments as well. Now to anyone who knows me - you KNOW I am not the cook. I actually started a fire in the kitchen in Houston trying to boil water…so needless to say I don’t cook. I decided a few days ago that since we had so many eggs I would make us breakfast burritos. So there I was cooking in the kitchen for all of 15 minutes *L* and they looked good - I was proud *LOL* I gave Emily hers and she dug right in but when I gave Cody his he got mad. He wanted to know why I left him alone. For the life of me I could not figure out what he was talking about until he added “so how did you go to Sonic and back so fast?” *lmao* he never would believe that I made them *hahaha* Oh I almost forgot - the kids needed new crocs so we went to bass pro and found something better - Polliwalks. They are just like crocs except they are shaped like an animal and leave animal tracks when they walk. Cody picked out the green alligators and Emily wanted the yellow ducks. They are adorable!

(Life) Well pretty much same ‘ole really. The kids have been sleeping in until 9am *L* better than 7 I guess but I remember sleeping until noon as a kid ;) Jay and I and a few friends went garage saling last weekend and found some fun stuff. I got Cody some mario cookie cutters and I picked up an i-quest w/4 games for a dollar. Jay found a craftsman push mower that he loves and we got a great deal on it. So I’m thinking we might have to do that again!

(Farm) Well we added a box turtle to the bunch - although he does live outside in the flower boxes. We added 6 baby ducks that were born on 5/30 and acquired in Fordland. Yesterday I candled the duck eggs in the inky and none were fertile so I don’t know what the deal is there. Each of the female ducks have started new clutches and so I’ll let them do their thing and hope for the best. Next week I’m expecting 2 sets of rabbit kits. The pigeons have laid another set of eggs and have been sitting on them since 6/9.

(Garden) Growing good - nothing to harvest yet but getting close. There are a few tomatoes that have started and I saw 3 peppers on the pepper plant. The cucumbers have taken over that entire side and I have about 10+ that have started growing and should be ready in a few days.

(Movies) Well we bought the Tremors pack and Cody loves those movies. We have also been watching Indiana Jones and he really gets into them. Emily can care less about either one of those *LOL* I watched P.S I love you and cried throughout. I LOVE that movie :) It’s a total chick flick! *hahaha*

(Life) Well we have been hiding a little bit. We did it to suprise Momma cause we thought it would be fun and since she already knows now I can spill the beans *L* We painted our house - yup the outside…with freakin hand paintbrushes *LOL* It looks good and it needed to be done but talk about tiring! The other BIG thing was that we ripped the carpet out in the livingroom and hall and put down that click together wood floor in there and the kitchen/dining room. Now that was rough but we finished it in 2 days - and YES for those wondering that is how the hammer met my finger ;) Jay is going to be attending OTC with me in the fall - he’s going to be taking the signing class I took. I think he will enjoy it. We also got a new game for the Wii - Wii-Fit. I freaking love that game! The kids and Jay will play also but I think I enjoy it more than they do ;) It’s a fitness game that has yoga, aerobics, strength training and some balance games. It weighs you and gives your BMI results and helps you get on track to getting fit. I’ve been tracking my progress - you can check it here - I added a link to the right side toolbar to. Aunt Kelly has been working out with me and I’m hoping a few more people will jump on board and keep the motivation flowing!

(Farm) The farm is booming *L* Angels babies are growing big - they are starting the wean now. I think I will be keeping the runt out of that litter - he/she is adorable! I plan on trying to figure out the sex on them this weekend and see what we ended out with. Sassy, Alberta and Murtle are getting a tad husky :) so I’m hoping they took. Murtle and Manson are doing so much better now that we’ve shaved them. Hmm did I even mention them before? Well just in case we bought 2 new angora’s (with papers even - oohhhh *L*) a black male(Manson) and a tortoise shell female(Murtle). They are HUGE! *L* We got them at the Marshfield Fiber fair a few weekends (5/17) ago. We ended up making new cages for the rabbitry and I love them. We did 4 male cages and 4 female (with drop down nest boxes) and I’m so happy with how they turned out. My arms and hands were so scratched up from messing and cutting the wire. I’ll add pictures under the rabbits. The ducks started laying on 5/16 (the 2nd duck started on 5/19) and have since laid 18 eggs that were put into the inky today. If I think we’re a go on them I’ll have Jay hook up the webcam when it gets to be hatch time.

(Kids) Emily just had her 3rd birthday - Happy birthday emily!! She was so excited to turn 3. We got her a little princess tryicycle and mamoo got her the princess helmet to match :) So cute! Emily’s latest “cute” thing that she says that is completely unique to her is “I love you a million ba-zillion” - omg sooo cute! I just LOVE when she says it. She also got a guitar (toy of course) but her and Cody have been rockin out like crazy fools to that thing. We got Cody a bike - his first one. He did such a great job of getting good grades and being kind and caring at school this year - he earned a bike :) and he loves the thing. He’s been riding around with Emily almost everyday. Cody will be done with school in 2 more days and let me tell you he is counting down the hours *L*

(Garden) We planted a few more things since I last updated, so Im going to update on everything *L* We planted 4 tomatoe plants - the cherry tomatoe has already started to grow one :) the others just have blooms. We also planted a watermelon and a pumpkin with haven’t done much yet. I decided we needed a catawa grape plant - and it seems to be growing…leaves…so maybe that’s a good sign?! *L* The cucumber plants - all 12 of them have of course taken off. I have over 40 (I quit counting) blooms and about 4 cucumbers started. Jay’s pepper has a few buds and  the pepper from veitemese pepper (a friend sent him some seeds) is the tiniest thing you ever saw - but it’s growing *L* (although it does look alot like a weed right now*LOL*) I also planted a blueberry bush - and it has started some green blueberries :) I’m hoping they turn blue…soon! That’s all for the garden but I also have a patio peach tree on the front porch that has 6 peaches started *woohoo!* and Cody is excited about eating them!

(Hobby) Well like I’ve said before I dabble in a million different hobbies and crafts. I’ve awful proud of the wii-mote cabinet I made though. I basically just took a picture of the wii-mote and enlarged it - then decoupaged it onto a cabinet but it’s my creation and I love it. I made it for Cody - and he loves it to. I havent managed to get a lot of craftiness done the last few weeks but hopefully this summer.

(Website) I added this post, the Wii-Fit page and a million ba-zillion pictures ;) Check out the recently added section under photo’s.

(Life) Well I explained a few posts ago that our lives have been a tad crazy and busy these days. I finish this semester next week, Cody will be graduating kindergarten the end of the month *woohoo go Cody* Emily is turning 3 in 2 weeks…Just lots of events going on.

(Farm) Gosh let’s see…The 2 baby pigeons are fully grown and we had 2 more hatch out a few days ago that are getting so big already. Angel (rabbit) one of the Sassy/Walter from Oct had 5 babies this morning - what a nice surprise! They all seem to be doing good and she pulled enough fur to make another rabbit *L* so we are keeping our fingers crossed that she figures everything else out and these little ones make it. Stil no eggs from our leghorn chicken - who is SUPPOSE to be the better egg layer out of the 3 we have *LOL* so who knows. The ducks have been mating but no eggs from either on yet :/

(Garden) Well we planted a few weeks ago. We planted 4 tomatoe plants (Ill add the types in later) and about 800 cucumber *LOL* well maybe not 800 but alot! 4 - 6 packs and a few singles. I’ll count them tomorrow and let you know. We all like cucumbers and you can always find someone to take the extras off you hands ;) Jay planted some peppers (types later) and we are planning to add in some okra and MAYBE try another watermelon plant this year.

(Hobby) I actually did get some sewing in this week. I made some capris (for me) out of a to small pair of jeans and one of Jays old Hawaiian shirts *L* They turned out good and they are comfy! I also made Cody a few pairs of shorts from his to small (yes, as in floods) jeans and Emily got 4 pairs of capris from her to small sweatpants. On Emilys I added some cute ribbons to the bottom - and she loves them :)

(Website) Well I’ve posted quite a few times and I added a crap load of pictures tonight. I also updated the rabbit page , the Lists page and the zoo crew to reflect the right amounts :)

Gosh…I am…

A SLACKER! I would like to blame the reason for not posting on school but I can’t this time *L* I mean I have homework, but I have had time to update the blog I just didn’t. I know - I’m terrible - get over it ;)  I have been surfing the web and catching up on the blogs I like to read, been looking up stained glass stuff (my latest hobby) and trying to figure out what to plant in the garden this year. We bought some plants today at Lowes. I will be planting those babies tomorrow (yes of course I’ll take pictures) I still need to update Cody’s birthday pictures. Apparently I let my Flickr acct lapse and it wouldnt let me upload any more pictures. There’s a limit of pictures on the free accounts I guess. So I had to pay for that before it would let me upload - so now that it’s paid I’ll get to uploading. OK onto the updates…

(Farm) Still hoping for rabbit babies. We bred Sassy and Angel so I’m expecting a litter around the 1st week of May. The baby pigeons have all their feathers and are doing wonderful! I’m soo excited that these lil guys made it through. Their parents have already started a new nest (away from the babies) and have been sitting on 2 more eggs. I had a tremendous amount of fun trying to catch 2 runaway pigeons on Tuesday. The wind blew the door of their pen open I guess. I had the front door open with the screen for some fresh air and a white bird flew right into the screen *L* scared the crap outa me! So I went to check if it was ok and realized *crap* that’s MY bird! *LOL* So I ran to their pen and 2 of my escapee pigeons were standing there (mocking me!) from my neighbors roof. It took about 4 hours before they FINALLY decided to get back in there…but everyone is back and safe and sound :) I caught my ducks mating today - kinda strange. They rarely make noise so when I heard a honking/hiss noise I assumed something (stray cat/squirrel/oppossum) was bothering them. Out the door I went with a broom just to find out they were having a moment *LOL* Sorry ducks! hahaha so maybe I will have some baby ducks this year.

(Kiddo’s) Both my nerds are doing great. Cody took a 30 word spelling test the other day and missed one - go Cody! I.m such a proud momma.  He has done so good in school this year! Emily is quite the chatter box (as usual) she rarely stops talking. She’s just like her momma ;) She has been loving going outside and helping me get the garden ready and feed all the animals. Although she’s a tad upset that last years kiddy pool is mostly green in color and STILL has goldfish swimming in it. Now I KNOW that pool froze solid over the winter so I was not expecting anything to be alive in there but they are - all 4 of them.

(Me and Jay) Same ole! That’s my update *L* Same crap - different day. You might wanna buy some stock in Lowes…We are planning to do some serious house repairs this spring/summer,  they have been needing to be done for a few YEARS now.  Painting the house(outside), putting in new flooring, new bathroom sinks, some hole repairs in the drywall (thanks to our potbelly pig zsa-zsa) , replacing the backyard fence, plant boxes around the tree and in front of the house, driveway repairs - and a few other odds and ends. Should be exciting :)
