A mouse can give you wha?

OK so I am a TAD freaked out now. While surfing the net and reading up on weird sites I came across hantavirus.net. At first I figured “this is a bunch of BS” but after I read the page…I double checked (ok “verified”) their information over at the CDC website. Sure enough it’s true. The deer mouse, white-footed mouse and cotton rat are all carriers. Unfortunately we have battle a mouse problem every winter. Living next door to a run down vacant shack for the last five years doesn’t help. Anyways basically this is an airborne infectious disease that mice carry and it can (although very rare) KILL you. You can get it from inhaling or swallowing (gag me!) fecal matter from an infected mouse, from being bitten by an infected mouse or from eating food that has come into contact with an infected mouse. Once that happens you get flu like symptoms. The disease keeps progressing making breathing difficult and eventually if left untreated your lungs fill with fluid and you die *gasp* Now I feel abit better because I found a map on the CDC and turns out Missouri has had zero cases *woohoo* but good grief some states have have quite a few. Check out your state here.
