The show is called “Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmerman” which airs on the travel channel. He was in Ecuador on today’s episode. I like this show because it’s different. I can see all kinds of different culture foods and not have to eat any *LOL* (I’m extremely picky about food) but tonight was different. Apparently ecuador has a national food - They call it “cuy” and it’s BBQ guinea pig. Yup, the cuddly little guys we keep as pets here in the states. Strange. He said it tasted like a pork roast shoulder then he sucked out the brains and ate them *gag* Anyways I was amused/disgusted and thought I’d share *lmao* If you want to see the episodes recap click here

Welp, I wrote a whole long post and it didn’t post :/ SO I’m writing a new one a few days late *LOL* So are you curious what the nerds did for turkey day? I figured you were *L* We went to see MawMaw (Jay’s Gramma) down in Mississippi. I have to say I feel like I’m going back in time when we go there *LOL* It was a long 10 hour drive (one way) We left Wens. after Jay got off work. The kids slept quite a bit so when we arrived they were awake! *LOL* Thurs morning was full of fun. Emily talked MawMaw’s ear off and Cody was running circles around her and rags (mawmaw’s dog) I was busy trying to become the Chuzzle *LOL* champion and Jay was busy fixing the van (a leaf blew up the heater vent into the fan).Friday morning (black friday) was even better…I logged in and tried to find some deals online but alas I didn’t *LOL* Poor me, I had to keep my money *LOL* Me and Jay went into town while MawMaw watched the kiddo’s. We went to the Piggly Wiggly and my FAVORITE store Dirt Cheap. Dirt Cheap is like a salvage store - you can get a great deal or you can get the sh!t end of the stick. I of course, found plenty to buy in there *LOL* They had alot of items that had Target stickers and so I loaded up *LOL* I got Christmas cards, Toys, Headphones…all kinds of crap *LOL* Jay had more fun at the Piggly *LOL* he bought some boudin, andouille, green peanuts (to boil) and a whole lot of other food they only sell down south. Sat & was spent lounging, eating and visiting. We left on Sun and ended up driving through rain the entire trip :/ We had so much fun. I’m so glad we went down there and hopefully we can get back down soon. Love ya MawMaw!
10 things we learned on this trip:
- Acorns Falling on a tin roof sound a lot like a gun shot
- Standing to close to the wall while playing Wii Baseball=Broke Wii-mote
- Emily likes to nibble not eat - she had a never ending plate going in the kitchen *LOL*
- How to bind off in knitting.
- No cell signal @ MawMaw’s house
- RainX works wonders!
- Leaves in the heater/AC fan sound like the engine broke!
- Dirt Cheap=spending $$ for me *L*
- The 4 of us do not fit in a full size bed
- Deer have a death wish - I counted 17 FORD(found on road dead) on the way back

Welp…Alberta had some babies. She had 2 roly poly babies. One is solid black and then the other is orange and black. They are doing good and seem to be healthy. She will be a good mom I think. She wont let me near them *LOL* So hopefully she will be a good mother and keep them safe and warm until we get back. Ill get some pictures posted next week.

I really hate that the government has so much darn control over what we do. It’s absurd that you can’t do what you want when you own your own crap. If I am paying for my house/property I should be able to own/plant/build whatever the heck I want. What’s the point of owning something if you have to ask permission before you can do anything? I just read a news story about a 60 year old farmer who was slaughtering his own cows. The state of Michigan wanted to have some testing done and he refused..good grief you would have thought he was some kinda terrorist. Just insanity. Want to read it ? Click here

Remember those commercials? Some dude would yell “Sunday Sunday SUNDAY” for the monster truck rally or furniture sale…OK anyways thats what I think of when someone says Sunday *lmao* OK now that you think I’m a total nerd *LOL*
Today we did some shopping..nothing big..groceries and 3 crickets for skittles the scorpion. Crickets are getting high. we bought 3 large crix and it was 36 cents…thats 12 cents a piece! For crix? They USED to be 6 cents. Way back when, before we had the kiddo’s Jay and I could have opened a reptile shop with all our critters. We had American alligators, geckos (4 different species), frogs (3 different species), Nile Monitor, Chameleons, newts, beaded dragons, Mali Uromastyx, snakes galore and everything else under the sun *L* We would go broke if we had them all now. I would go buy at LEAST 100 crix each week back in the day…that would be $12 a week - $48 a month! It’s doubled in a few years…just insane. OK enough of the expensive cricket rant *L*

This was suppose to be my sleep in late - do nothing Saturday. I was woke up at 7am…not by Jay…not by kiddo’s…but by a RABBIT *LOL* I had brought the babies in last night because it was awful cold and Sassy(Momma rabbit) was apparently really needing some relief *LOL* She was banging her cage against the wall *bang bang* which happens to be on the other side of my headboard. So I got up and took the babies to her. That started a chain reaction. Emily heard the door and got up to see what I was doing. Cody heard Emily get up and decided he wanted to be part of the action. Then between both monkeys Jay woke up…So we were all up by 7:15am because of a wabbit *LOL*
I did get to play my Zelda game for a bit before the real work began. Jay chopped down all the banana tree’s. That was like a jungle! They came down with a whoosh and water was pouring out of them *thanks to the water leak* I’ll post up some before/after pictures tomorrow. Then we decided to tackle the automatic watering system for the rabbits and the birds. It wasn’t “hard” but very time consuming. It’s done and it works and I LOVE it. Our setup is a 55gal drum, some PVC pipes, and a few rabbit water nozzles. I’m super excited because we can leave without having to worry about everyones water supply. Then we came in and I picked up/cleaned the house and started laundry while Jay cooked dinner…the kids had their bath and Jay went back and forth to the store a few times (don’t ask *lmao*) while I updated the website. THEN I had the pleasure of doing homework *sarcasm* I can hope for a lazy Sunday right? *LOL*
OH and I forgot to mention friday that we aquired another “pet”…and Emperor Scorpion :/ That was Jay’s idea because of Cody. At school they made leaves that said what the were most thankful for. Most of the kids said family, pets, you know normal things. Cody said “for a pet scorpion” *lmao* basically he meant thankful to GET one *LOL* SO Jay went and got one…so another add to the zoo crew :)
