(Life) Life has been same ‘ole routine for the most part. I’ve been going to school and doing my thing. I wouldn’t consider it “hard” but I wouldn’t say it was easy. My problem right now is making the time to study and to do homework on top of the housework, Cody’s school, the farm chores, ect.. So far so good though. I volunteered at Cody’s school this morning. Sharpening pencils *L* easy right? Yeah try sharpening 100+ pencils with an old hand crank sharpener *L* Let’s just say *ouch* I have blisters on my index finger and my thumb and my arm is sore. So I think I’ll buy a good pencil sharpener and donate that thing to the school. They need one! *L*
(Farm) The garden is gone..I’m not even bothering to water anymore. We got a good harvest with tomatoes and cucumbers so I’m happy with it I guess. Ok onto the zoo *L* The pig: She’s fine but has an attitude now :/ AND she likes to break chicken eggs - which is a BIG problem for me. So I’m not sure what were going to do about that. The chickens are all doing great. Everyone seems happy and they are all laying 1 egg each per day. Not to shabby. The rabbits are doing good despite this insane heat. I’m still swaping frozen water bottles out every day and trying to keep them cool in any way I can. They seem to be doing fine though which is good because I worry about them the most as far as the heat goes. The quails *hahaha* where to start?! I need to update the whole bird page and give all the specs and such - and I will…tomorrow *L* For now we had a total of 71 hatch and we have a few in the inky (just in case) they are late bloomers but I’m having my doubts. The babies are doing good but hatched out a day late for the swap :/ SO we are going to find another outlet to sell them.
(Kids) Emily is missing Cody everyday but is finding her joy in driving me insane instead *L* Actually she has been so good and minds so much better when he’s gone - strange huh?! She has been singing nursery rhymes lately and just loves when you sing with her. She scared the life out of me on Saturday though. Cody has this hard plastic tool set. It has a drill, screwdriver, saw, chunky bolts and a hammer. Apparently Emily thought she would use the screwdriver to fix the t.v. (which wasn’t broke BTW *L*) anyways she came running down the hall and right as she rounded the couch where I was sitting - she tripped. Emily starts screaming the pain cry and I realize that she had the screwdriver…yeah she landed on it. She fell on it and it poked her in the eyebrow. I didn’t know at first where it hit because her whole eyelid, and area was bright red and swelling. Emily refused to open her eye and I seriously thought that poked her eye and we were in for an ER visit. I thought about Jays sister when she poked her eye with the scissors when she was 2-3 - Emily’s age. I had an ice pack and was carrying her into the bathroom within 3 seconds of her falling. I got her calm enough to look at her eye and finally I realized where she hit. The big purple knot on her eyebrow was the first clue :/ So I sat and cuddled her a bit with the icepack and she was good to go. Then Sunday she bonk’d that SAME spot on the corner of the coffee table. Poor thing. Today it’s a big purple and green spot about the size of a dime. I was suppose to get her pictures done this month - stupid Murphey’s law *L* Now onto Cody man. He has been doing so good. Today he got super manners again - making that the 4th day in a row he has brought home a little certificate to put on the wall. He’s been excited about it but tells me he does it because he wants to leave early and is afraid of having to run on the track at recess. So I’m not sure what to think *L* He has been tracing numbers and coloring and learning about numbers. These are things he learned last year so when he tells me he doesn’t like school, I know he means he isn’t learning anything new and is bored. So I cant wait for him to get into the year and be learning new things so it will be fun for him again.

They are starting to hatch! 2 so far have made their way out of their shell and into the world :)
Take A Look —–>Batorcam
***I will be updating this post throughout the hatch***
The 1st being from an egg that was laid on 8/1. It was fully out of the shell at 3:19pm. The 2nd to arrive was from an egg that was laid on 8/4 . It was fully out of it’s shell by 3:25pm. I tried to capture that one on video.
You can see it HERE. The 3rd took a bit longer and hatched at 5:59pm and was from an egg laid on 7/28 (the day we started collecting eggs for the inky) The 4th and 5th followed suit @ 6:01pm and 6:06pm (laid on 8/2, 8/3) The 6th had been attempting to break free since the 2nd one hatched but I couldn’t stand it anymore so I helped abit and it finally hatched at 6:31pm (laid on 8/3) and the 7th was at 6:57pm (laid on 8/2) Then all was quiet for several hours. Right as we decided to go to bed 2 more little ones decided to make their appearance and hatched out. So number 8 and 9 arrived at 12:02 (laid on 8/1) and 12:03 (laid on 8/2)

*awww* First off…I DIDN’T cry! I was so proud of him. Cody is a big kindergartener now. When he got up this morning he was so happy to be starting back at school. I could barely get him to eat breakfast and he basically rushed me out the door *L* We got to school and he just wanted to go line up with his class. No “I don’t want to” no crying, no nothing. I think his exact words were “ok love you bye Momma” :)Â I think he got used to the routine last year so this was a cake walk for him. I waited around so I could get a picture of him with his new teacher and then me and Miss Em left. Emily however was not super thrilled with the idea of leaving Cody this morning. She cried and told everyone there that she wanted her bubba to come home right now *LOL* She’s ok now though. It’s amazing what a pop tart can do ;)

Jay finally got the webcam up and running. It’s all linked up and should refresh automatically about every 15 seconds. He got it up and running just in time. They should be hatching tomorrow night. We’ve been watching the eggs jiggle and move all day. I’m hoping for a good hatch. This will be our first quail hatch where all the eggs are from our birds. I’m excited! Check out the birds page for more info.
Here’s a quick link to the cam:
Check out the Inky! They should be hatching 8/23-8/24.Â

My goodness it has been a week since my last post. I think I lost a few days :) Anyways I’ve got a lot to share so I think I’ll keep my regular simple format and try to keep it shorter than a novel - maybe *L*
(Kids) CODY GOT IT AT YORK! I am so excited - you have no idea *L* I really wanted him to go to school there. I just really like the staff, school and just everything. I was stressing hard core when I hadn’t received anything last Friday…they start school this Thurs. So I called Monday afternoon and was told “He’s IN! Be here at 6:30 for Kindergarten orientation” hehe kinda short notice but I don’t even mind. I am so thankful he is in and I can stop worrying about it. I like the teacher that he got - I think he will have a great year. So I’m utterly thrilled…can you tell?! *LOL*
(Life) I started college last week. I was nervous and you know what? I should have been. I had a great time and I think this will work out good. I only go 2 days a week but I have 3 classes so I’m gone from 5 to 10pm (kinda late) but it’s working so far. I like my English teacher - she seems really cool and down to earth. My math teacher is alright - she assigns the most as far as homework *L* and my computer teacher is cool - he’s always making jokes in class. I’ve met a few friends which is nice and I found out that I’m not the oldest - which was a fear of mine *L* So I don’t feel super out of place. So far so good.
(Farm) That darn rabbit! No freaking babies. I think she’s doing it on purpose now *LOL* ok so maybe that’s going a little to far but she is tripping me out. We bred them again on 8/14 so IF this takes it should be around 9/14. I refuse to get excited again and this will be the only mention of it until and IF she has any. The girls (chickens) are ALL laying now *woohoo* So we get 1 blue egg, 1 brown egg, 1 white egg darn near everyday. I had almost forgot how nice it was to not have to buy eggs ;) The Quail’s are laying an average of 15 a day now. It’s funny because we took my dad some quail when we went to see him and he has a few eggs in an inky right now to *L* We still have 119 (1 was apparently cracked) in the inky. We removed the turner yesterday and are expecting them to hatch out Thurs night/Friday morning so we shall see. I’m hoping for a good hatch. Jay never did get the software set up so we dont have the cam up - I’ve been nagging him but he’s running short on time so I cant gripe to much. We should have a hatch every month though depending on how everything goes Sat. We will be going to the animal swap and see what the market is for quail and kinda go from there.
(Garden) Garden? I have a garden? Oh my goodness…my pretty garden is basically gone. The plants are all wilted and looking terrible and have (basically) stopped producing fruit. My tomatoes are the only ones that have anything and they keep getting stolen by squirrels. Nothing like watching a squirrel attempt to carry a tomato the siize of its head across the fence and up the tree. It’s amusing *L*
(Contests/Freebies) I havent really been playing. I just played once and happened to win from a coke contest 200 coke rewards points, so that was neat. I got a freebie in the mail from annolon - it’s a 5 1/2in Satoku knife. Jay likes it :) Another good freebie came from Marlboro. It’s a really nice flashlight/floodlight. It’s pretty good size and it really bright so that was an awesome freebie to. We got several different samples of coffee, deodorant, mouthwash, shampoo and lotion throughout last week.
(Misc) I have to talk about the moth for a minute. So we have this giant moth(it’s like 3in long) who apparently decided that my porch is a nice place to live. The 1st night he was stuck to the outside of the screen door. So I showed him off to the kids but made sure he was disturbed or messed with. I just figured he got tired and wound up there. Over the next 3-4 days I saw him stuck in different spots each day. Each day I take the kids outside and we try and find his resting spot. By the 8th day (today) I figured he likes us and has chosen to stay *L* SOOO I took him picture and since I talked about him here he is officially another pet *lmao* but I don’t have to feed this one! On a totally different subject Jay found a truck that he “HAS TO HAVE” *LOL* So he took a picture of it. It’s little red express truck. I’m not even sure what they want for it but I know he wants it. Let’s see..what else? I found a brownie pan that I simply MUST have!*hint hint for my birthday* hahaha It’s an edge/corner ONLY brownie pan! It’s good to know there are people out there like me who don’t like the middle of the pan brownies *LOL* OH I finally caught the darn shark in my Animal Crossing WW (Nintendo DS) *woohoo* Yeah I know the simplest things amuse me ;)
So much for keeping this short eh? ;)

OK this was just to funny to not blog about *LOL*
Cody and I were having a conversation about throwing fits…I really hate them and he likes to do them :/ SO today after running some errands I told him how proud I was that he hasn’t thrown any fits today even though we did a few things that he wasnt happy about. I mentioned that if he can keep that up we will have to send santa a letter about how good he has been and how he stopped throwing fits. Then I asked him what he would want to ask santa for. Cody said “OH! A Nintendo ds with a MARIO brother’s game!” Which was an answer I expected to hear *L* the boy loves mario :)
I mentioned to him that he needed to keep in mind that santa can see everything so he really needs to be on his best behavior and NO fit throwing. It took him all of 10 seconds before he blurted out “He can even see me when I poop?!”
It took everything I had not to bust out laughing *LOL* and my first thought (which I didn’t say out loud by the way) was “Uhh yeah son, Santa is a pervert” *lmao* but instead I answered “uh no, he doesnt watch you do that” and then of course I headed to the bedroom so I could laugh for a minute. I just love my kids :)

(Life) It has been so freaking hot! The temp here has been averaging high 90’s to 100+ for the past 2 weeks and I’m about ready for it to be over with! I hate this kinda of heat with humidity. It’s just awful trying to do anything outside and trying to keep the animals cool has been a royal pain. I already talked about that so let me think about anything else happening…OH! Jay tried to burn the house down. OK well he didn’t burn anything but he did smoke the place up and make our eyes burn and water for a half hour *LOL* After he had cooked his chicken/pepper meal he *thought* he turned the burner off but instead turned that baby up to high. 5-10 minutes later the kitchen was all smoky and an awful smell was covering the house. Thankfully he had the lid on the cast iron pan so he just took the whole thing outside. Let me tell you a grease fire is no joke. When he took the lid off (outside) the grease was on fire and when he hit it with the hose (which your not suppose to put water on a grease fire but it was already on the lawn) the flame shot up about 3ft high and then it went out. So yeah never put water on a grease fire *LOL* Some other news is I start school in 2 days. I’m getting alil nervous but I think it will be ok. Gosh it’s been 10+ years since I’ve had tests and homework *L* So wish me luck! I’ve also completed 2 things on my 101 things list and have 3 in progress :)
(Farm) The darn rabbit didn’t have babies! I’m so frustrated. She has teets full of milk, pulled fur and made a nest but no babies! Darn rabbit. Maybe next month…The quails have been laying an average of 17 eggs everyday and let me tell you I have eggs comming out my you know what! They are small but there are many *L* I have them in jars, egg cartons and basically any space I have is being filled with eggs right now *LOL* Still only 1 chicken laying so nothing new there. The pig is doing fine. I think she’s gained some more weight so I’ll have to have Jay weigh her again so I can update it. Jay is suppose to be getting the inky cam (check out the bird page for more info) up so soon - I promise!
(Kids) Cody is super excited about starting school next week. I’m kinda freaked because I am trying to transfer him to a different district (basically I want him to go to the same school he was at last year for preschool) and I wont know if he will get the transfer until Monday! Only 4 days shy of when he should be starting school. So I’m nervous about the whole deal *ack*
(Garden) I think it’s dying…It’s just been to hot. The 100+ days are taking their toll on my poor plants. The cucumbers . pumpkins and the strawberries are looking so sad and pitiful. The tomato plants leaves are turning tan-ish and I can’t seem to water them enough :/ The only plants that are still doing good are Jay’s peppers. Which by the way are insanely HOT *lmao* Jay was attempting to eat some last night and it was all he could do to take the 2nd bite *lmao* then he gave up - Which is unusual for him because he likes that type thing. I also didn’t know they would burn you skin if you rub it on there…but apparently it will *LOL*
(Website) I uploaded a few more pictures - here’s a quick peak at a few of them

So this post is another reason it would suck to be our neighbors *lmao* I bet you think I say that because of all our animals. After all we do live in the city and we do have a *few* animals *L* and hey, once in awhile they do make noise and sometimes they even crap…but that’s not why it would suck to be our neighbors. Jay and I were bored tonight - that’s why it sucks to be our neighbors. It happens sometimes and to amuse ourselves we come up with something random and weird stuff that will make us laugh for years to come. So Jay came up with a plan and I helped execute it *L* Aren’t you just dying to know what we did? Of course you are! OK so here it is…OH wait…I need to tell you something from before so this will be funny. A month or so ago a nice cop came by to inform us we are not allowed to park on our own lawn - the nerve right?! I think I wrote about this before…Anyways a few days after that - A Sunday to be exact I walked outside to find this bright yellow piece of paper stuck to my windshield and I was ticked. Jay and our next door neighbors got a “warning ticket” informing us that we were again in violation and next time will be ticketed for real. Great..Our tax dollars at work. Anyways…We all continue to park in the grass. I know we are REBELS *lmao* Actually we park there for convenience. Our driveways are not wide enough for 2 cars and parking behind each other bites. So we all just continue on as we did before the nice cop visited us. OK fast forward to tonight - Jay and I are bored and needing some entertainment…We had noticed earlier and even joked about how the neighbors had BOTH parked in the grass this evening. SO I dug out some paper that was the same color as our previous “ticket” and I made 2 *new* tickets and we stuck them on their windshields. Now you know at 7am when they open the garage door to walk out to their cars so they can leave for work that when they see the yellow paper they will be fuming (for a minute) Then when they read it they will laugh all day and maybe even share our prank with coworkers for more laughs *LOL* So are you wondering what the tickets say? I thought so…It’s nothing spectacular but they will find it funny none the less so here’s what I wrote “Haha - bet you thought this was a real ticket didn’t you? I bet your glad its not! Have a good day, love the crazy neighbors” <--- because that's what they call us. I can't imagine why ;) *lmao*\

Are good for more than just heating up food. Check this link out <here> Now that is some interesting stuff. It reminds me of something Jay would do…OH wait…He HASÂ *L* He has already tried to blow up, destroy, mutate and mutilate quite a few things in the microwave since we’ve been married. A few of his favorites (which were not featured on that website) are CD’s and grapes. He once blew the door open with an egg! Anyways I came across that link and thought I’d share :)
