Well…
2 LONG weeks in California and we are heading back “home”
It has been very emotionally and physically trying…I wish
my family was different. I guess some things never change
no matter how much you want them to. I miss my house and my
dogs and I just miss being “home”. I had always considered
Cali my “home”…After all I grew up here. I spent 17 years here.
But I up and left one day. It took coming back here to remember why I left in the first place. I was looking for something better and you
know what? I actually found it and didn’t realize it until today.
I have a WONDERFUL hubby - after this past week…I KNOW just
how much he loves me. I have 2 beautiful kids who have really been troopers though this whole ordeal and I have a great life even with all it’s tiny troubles and issues. So I guess Missouri is my home
after all. I feel safe and I feel loved there, and that’s all that matters.

Well today has been a rough day. My Grampa has been in the hospital since Thursday, they have been running test after test and the results are finally back. He has Leukemia. It is very advanced and basically he is to old to handle any of the typical treatments and so he is refusing to do any of them. I respect his decision and understand why he is wanting to do that, but it is very hard for me to accept. I have started planning our trip out there - which is very stressful. However I really want my kids to meet their great Grampa and vice versa. Just a very sad day for me….
***Update*** My Grampa passed away on April 6th. I am so glad I was able to get there and have him meet and get to know Jay and the kids. Miss you Grampa!
